The isopods in my spider's enclosure got along so well that after a year or so they needed their own enclosure. I originally added them thinking Spider Woman, a jumping spider with a smiley face on her back, would eat them, but she only likes roaches, crickets, or soldier flies. The isopods are more entertaining on my desk than the spider, who mostly stays in here tunnel at the top of the cage. So I decided to give them a better home.I got this, which comes disassembled and is easy to put together, after a smaller terrarium quickly developed problems with mold and mildew.This has a sturdy mesh top panel that slides out to the front and lets in enough light for a 'forest floor' type terrarium and keeps the ivy and ficus happy. Although it is not sealed tight like some enclosures with water, a paludarium, it comes with a liner with sides about an inch tall to contain rocks and some water to keep the underside of the substrate wet, as is needed for millipedes. It retains moisture, needs misting a time or two a day, but the ventilation through the top has kept any mildew or mold away. The pedes and pods are happy. The millipedes mostly come out after the light's dimmed, there are always some isopods trundling around, nibbling on veggies or fish flakes. They come out en masse at night to devour everything put there for them.This is an ideal enclosure for them,or for any beasties that needs a wet bottom and damp substrate.

I was surprised that this tank needed to be put together, my sin did it for me, but because it was not a sealed glass tank, I have concerns about possibly leaking if I choose to use with water!? Bought to shelter a turtle. Looks great but time will tell if it holds up.

I Iove this tank!I've kept tanks for the past 40 years. I've owned pet stores. Sold and bread exotics. Kept fish, reptiles, invertebrates. I needed a moveable enclosure for my newest hobby. Millipedes. This is perfect. Especially with the removable inside tray. Makes cleaning a breeze. I plan to seal it with silicone, but it's not a necessity for me.Came flat in a box well packed with no breakage. I was afraid of it getting broken in shipping.I honestly cant say enough about this tank. I will most likely order another. Great for so many different animals. Looking into spiders next.I would like this in different sizes!One bit of negative feedback. The top of the tank doesnt fit together snugly. I noticed another review that mentioned that as well. Not a deal breaker for me. But, wouldn't work for tiny jumping spiders.Edit- ok as much as I still love it The tray inside gets old quickly. As a piece of plastic does. So mow my millipedes are choosing to hant out under it , rather then actually in the substrate. So I'm going to have to break it down clean it thoroughly and actually put a seal inside.I wish I had bought a different one. Or if they offered replacement trays that would help Buy the more expensive one, the expensive ones always fit better.

I know it's a square shape but it took me a little while to figured out what pieces went where. There was a little book that came with it and it's completely useless for instructions. After I got it together correctly and the pieces fit smoothing together the whole product is very nice. I like that it's not rectangle shape to fit on slightly smaller areas. I would buy this again.

Nice space-area for an arboreal type spider approx. 4.5 inches. Good construction, east to assemble and seems to be really solid.
