Plants thriving second year in a row using
My plants are thriving this year. Second year using the dirt. I purchased it again for another garden bed. I used about 6 bricks per planter and it was so much easier than buying bulk bags of soil

GOOD BUY- RETURN BUYER
Works as described. Much better than soil alone

Great for potted plants and seed starting.
Terrific addition to my potted garden plants. Gentle on seeds when germinating. Adds lightweight volume and is easy to re-hydrate. Stores compactly until needed.

So Far So Good…
So far, I’m impressed.Unlike others out there, my bricks came in uniform size and weight. The brick was easy to use: just place in a bucket or pail and fill with water (quite a bit) and let soak for a couple hours or overnight. Once the brick has absorbed the liquid, it breaks apart easily. At first glance, the material seems to be of good consistency. Definitely retains moisture, as stated. I’m pleased with the amount of expansion, and am optimistic that it will serve its purpose for starting my seeds. Only time will tell…

Not all blocks are created equal
These are a nice price for what you get, however, if you are using this in any kind of process where you need exactly 650g block of coco coir for say, a mushroom substrate recipe, you will find that these blocks are not all the same size, despite what the description says. I ordered (2) five packs of these coco coir bricks. I haven't opened the 2nd box yet, as I don't need them yet, but in the first box, upon opening, you can see the blocks are not created equal. 2 of them were very skinny, one was very thick, and the other two were what I would call normal exact size. I will weigh each of the blocks in the other box to see how they are. You might not think that a smaller or larger block would matter that much, but when you need exactly 650g block of coco coir for a perfect field capacity mushroom substrate, it makes a very big difference.

SO much easier than potting soil
I always put off buying potting soil because I don’t want to deal with those big heavy bags. Not only are they hard for me to lift, I can never put them into a container without getting filthy. I needed to fill a large container to hold a sign and it would have taken a lot of soil. I decided to try these instead and I’m SO glad that I did. I put the bricks into the container and left water dripping on them overnight. The next morning they had expanded to fill it and I was able to add some flowers and the sign. I’m really happy with the result.

Great product
A great product, it can be used with garden soil, potting soil, or alone; just remember, if you get small blocks, the product expands and is more manageable.
