Q: Are they real leather or just vinyl ?

They are really leather and i put it on my lexus 350 i had to stretch it out but overall I am very pleased with it.

Q: How is this cover fitted onto the armrest?

It takes elbow grease. Leave the armrests on the seat. Pull the cover onto the armrest while also using a hair dryer to heat up the leather to make it a little more pliable. Stretch the cover tight and hold in position a minute or two, and repeat the process, eventually the hole will loop over the back of the armrest. It takes about 10-15 minutes of this type of stretching to eventually get the cover to stretch over the back of the armrest. Once it's on, it fits so tight it doesn't even look or feel like a cover. It looks original to the armrest.
