bingo!
this was the 7th antenna i tried. i don't know why it ranks where it does here on amazon. of all the antennas i tried, the other six all ranked higher and in the top 100. of the seven, this one cost the most.i got nothing from the first two antennas. one was the flat rectangle you stick in the window. the second sat on top of the tv or below it or on the wall. not a single channel from either.antennas 3 & 4 gave me hope. they were both made by the same company. i got 4 channels on the cheaper one, and 15 of the pricier one. number three was a yagi-style and four was a multi-directional.number 5 claimed to be omni-directional as does this one, but both are more multi-directional in my opinion. i got different channels when rotating them. this style antenna has limited range, so i tried a directional for longer range with number 6.i live in carrol county in maryland, about 50 miles from harrisburg, pa and 50 miles from baltimore. i have hagerstown at 35 miles and frederick at 25.the directional did not get me the additional transmitters i was hoping to get from baltimore. looks like those transmitters are southeast in baltimore, so the terrain is probably the reason for the poor reception. however, number 6 was the only antenna to give me channels indoors on the first-floor tv.number 5 was giving me 20+, but some of the channels, abc and fox in pa and cbs and nbc in baltimore had problematic reception.antennas 3 through 7 worked best outside on a mast placing the antenna about 15-20 feet above the ground.this antenna gave me 46 channels with exceptional reception. i've trimmed it down to 31 because i was getting duplicate channels from different places. i've settled for maryland-based channels. i don't need shopping channels or religion channels. i have all the major networks, abc, cbs, nbc, fox, cw, ion, pbs, pbs/kids, and 4 different mpt stations. i'm in my 60s, so seeing shows from the 60s and 70s on other channels is a big plus for me.i live in an HOA that has restrictions, but you might want to check the fcc's otard (over-the-air-receiving-device) rule. it's been up for a couple of weeks, and so far no complaints.the biggest plus is the smile i wear knowing my neighbors are paying a small fortune for their cable tv for what i now get for free. (i use netflix for movies.)

Great antenna, OTA is helping me fully cut the cord.
Purchased this in the process of cutting the cord and getting off U-verse.Out of the box, it was simple to assemble. Most difficult part of installation was getting up on top of my house to install it. But the screws included did the trick just fine.Only issue I have is a little signal degradation when it's raining/storming. But I think that might be to be expected on any antenna on top of one's house as the wind makes it move just a little which would possibly cause issues.I had issues with the phone app installing, so skipped that, but it installed just fine without it. I'm using it with an HD Homerun box (available here on Amazon) to hand out tuner capabilities to all the TV's, Tablets, and computers in my house.

Works great, but mast mount u-bolt is useless
I am thoroughly impressed with how well this antenna works. It is a great omnidirectional antenna. I'm in south Charlotte, NC. I have it about 30 ft in the air. I can get all of the major stations here with a full scale signal. I get full scale on one PBS station, 5 out of 6 bars on another and 1 bar on a third. PBS stations are sometimes a challenge due to low broadcast power.Turning the antenna did affect the signal strength on the PBS stations. It had no affect on the strong stations. They were always full scale. I ended up finding one direction that gave me everything I wanted. I'm truly impressed. Past antennas I have used have never delivered like this. Now for the bad part. I'm not sure why they bother including the u-bolts for mast mounting. They are entirely too short to fit around any likely mast material that people would normally use. I could not find replacements that would work with the plastic mast mount. But I found I could use the roof mount instead with larger u-bolts. The provided v-jaws worked fine with the larger u-bolt. I'm including a picture of the end result.

Look elsewhere. Pre-amp and "Signal Meter" are garbage. Plastic mounting hardware.
The signal meter worked for a short period, then stopped working altogether. To use the signal meter, you have to download the "RV Halo" app, which is horrible (2.5 stars on Apple store). You cannot lock into a specific signal, then adjust the antenna to that signal. The list of channels keeps jumping around so you don't know whether your adjustments are having any effect. The pre-amp was garbage. I replaced the pre-amp with a Televes which increased the signal strength tremendously. The mounting hardware is plastic. The antenna seems to work fine, but I have no other antenna to compare it with. It's too much hassle to take it off the roof or I would have returned the entire thing.
