Artificial and nasty tasting gunk... from HELL
I'm not normally one to write reviews at all, but I felt compelled to tell potential buyers about the quality of this product. It's not for the faint-hearted!I love coffee syrups, it's so nice to have a variety to choose from, and in the past I've been fortunate to have found some nice tasting flavours. In a home with coffee lovers, we choose between syrups, and I thought I'd get my lovelies a range of flavours to try on Valentine's Day.The results were undrinkable. The aroma upon opening the cheap plastic bottles should have been a clue. They smell like chemicals from an evil laboratory. Keen-nosed neighbourhood dogs began whining, yelping, and running upwind. Undeterred, we gave them a try, and what a way to ruin a cup of coffee. Hideous. Some worse than others. The peppermint and caramel were the worst offenders. None of them truly resemble the name on the label.Presentation-wise, the box looks nice, but the bottles themselves have tiny labels that mock my ever-increasing presbyopia, and in order to not have to fumble for reading glasses each time I wish to make a cup of coffee, I used a marker pen to put a letter on each cap. Instead of A for Amaretto etc, I may as well have put X for all of them.I HATE wasting food or drink, but I reluctantly had to put the syrups - which should have been served by Igor in foaming test tubes to the soundtrack of ominous thunder - into the bin. I feel sorry for the landfill scavenging seagulls if they try a beak-full. Said seagull would have done a more attentive job at quality control than whoever was vacant at the factory, presumably on an unscheduled holiday at the time of production, leaving these foul concoctions untasted and untested! As for price, well I paid £14.99, and shortly afterwards they were reduced to £9.99. Talk about adding insult to injury! Terrible value even at that price. In fact, if I'd got them at a pound shop, I would have regretted that and thought, well, you get what you p... except I didn't pay a quid, I paid FIFTEEN QUID for ghastly vials of chemicals that were more suited to Halloween than Valentine's. They may have been poured directly out of a hag's cauldron! So, be warned!
