Perfect!
Great for transporting 12ft+ surf rods safely away from the road, rocks and debris. This is much better than the front or back bumper mounted units. The bar can angle the rods down to avoid low trees and utility lines easily. Drive-through windows are finally a breeze.The first unit had an issue with the rachet system but Portarod quickly sent out a replacement part. Awesome customer service! I received my Offshore Portarod today. Three of my Seeker rods were too thick to fit in the rod holder without switching the top slotted cap with the bottom cap. I emailed Portarod via there website and received an immediate response that fixed my problem. This unit is solid and well designed and their customer service is outstanding!

Too small for offshore fishing
The rod holder fit in the truck great, but within a few weeks it was already rusting out. The rod holders themselves didn’t even fully fit the butt ends of our rods. We have Penn 130s on 130 rods, the base fit fine, but did not fully cover the entire rod where we felt safe to drive to the pier.
