This pocket watch is GORGEOUS! However, it opens a different direction from what I have seen. And I did not notice it in the listing. All of the watches I have seen have the open hinge at 9 o'clock so it opens horizontally like a door from the side to side and fits nicely in your palm to read the time, all at the same time. This watch has the open hinge at 6 o'clock so it opens vertically from top to bottom. Perhaps I am wrong, but I asked a few men and they all said it should open from side to side. It felt awkward to open from top to bottom. I gave it 5 stars just in case I am wrong. It truly IS absolutely stunning! But I am returning it.

I bought this for my roommate who loves pocket watches. It is gorgeous. The domed smooth lid means it slides out of the pocket easily, not catching on the material. It has a nice long chain with a sturdy clasp that slides on easy but holds well. The face is easy to read,, the numbers are large enough to read without glasses. The cover pops open smoothly and fairly easy. If you hold it to your ear you can hear it ticking which can be comforting. Above all else the design is absolutely beautiful. Anyone would be proud to wear this watch. If you or someone you love, like watches, this would be perfect for them. It might be considered masculine because it has a dragon and a phoenix on it but it is too beautiful to be delegated to one gender. I would have one in an instant if I could have. I did receive this product at a reduced price in exchange for my honest review. I highly recommend this watch to anyone.

This is a nice watch for the money, opens easily and doesn't look cheap. Keeps time well and has a nice appearance, even with plastic face cover instead of glass. It is definitely worth the money its offered for. I received it at a discount for a fair and honest review, but would have paid full price for it and not felt cheated.
