Is this compatible with the o-md e-m1x?

I’m not sure. I purchased it for the new OM-5 that has the same body dimensions as the E M5 III.

do you need to remove the original eyepiece to get this to attach? I can't get mine to attach.

The eyepiece slides off from the bottom. You may need to push from the bottom with a little force. There is a small "latch" to hold it in place.
