My 10 year old Homelite pressure washer water pump not working correctly
So, I took my Homelite pressure washer (2900psi) out of the shed to do my house and walkway, it hadn't been done for 4 or 5 years. That's also the last time I fired it up, its about 10 years old and has worked well. So, it fires up after about 8 or 10 pulls, So I think great, I am in business. Go to find out that not only had all the O ring seals rotted from the hoses, but I was only getting about 25% power from the spray nozzle. After about 2-3 hours troubleshooting, I realize that its the water pump. It was 10 years old and I wanted more powerSo I give in and start doing research on a new pressure washer. The WPX3400 kept coming up as a top rated unit.So I go to Amazon and order it. It arrives the next day. (Heavy box) I open the box and everything is packed really well.Get the unit out of the box, then read all the instructions, pretty straight forward. Unit seems well built. Easy assembly , nothing hard. Clear instructions. Took, 90% of the container of oil that comes with it.It would not start in first few pulls (6-10), I then tried turning off the choke as it was about 85 degrees outside. Started in first pull. Ran smooth, so I started using it.Plenty of power, nice and easy to use, soap came right out using the soap nozzle. I am very happy with the purchase, would buy again.Do your research, you will come to the same conclusion. 5 Stars.

Perfect Pressure Washer for Any Scenario - Great Value
I bought this pressure washer after considering a plethora of different makes and models, including the option of electric vs. gas powered.I am glad I chose gas, and I'm glad I chose this Westinghouse WPX3400. I chose gas because it is much more powerful than electric, and I chose Westinghouse because they have a decent reputation, and the WPX3400 because that was the best "Max Pressure to Cost" ratio.I have used at least a half-dozen different pressure washers, mostly gas-powered, but never owned my own. Now that I have a property that I need to maintain myself, I believe it was WELL WORTH the price of this machine to be able to take on the significant number of tasks and projects that would require a Pressure Washer. The assembly was simple. Just a couple nuts and bolts to screw in (clearly labeled in the manual with pictures), and the top handle just slides on - no tools or bolts required. Great design.Starting Up: I thought that this Pressure Washer was a little flaky on the VERY FIRST USE. It took several pulls to start, and it stalled out on me. However, EVERY USE after the first, it has started up on the FIRST PULL! Seriously. If you buy this, expect your first startup to be a little rocky, but just let it do its thing - it'll either stall or you'll power it down...After the first use, expect every single use to start on the first pull, every time. That's how good I feel about this machine, after a small sample size of uses (~20 times).CAVEAT: If you are going to own and care for a Pressure Washer, you need to understand how to do things the right way. What I wrote above, about this machine starting up smooth every single time (from the second use on), will only be true if you care for the machine correctly.First, get yourself some 4-stroke engine oil as well as some "pump protector". Both of these items should be in the single-digit dollar amount. You will want these on hand because at some point you will need to:1. Add more oil (or change the oil), and2. Clean it thoroughly and protect the engine if storing it for any length of time.Second, read the manual in entirety, it's not long. If you're one of those people who throws away the manual without glancing at it and says "I got this", nobody thinks you're cool, and you might miss a potential quirk unique to a machine that will ruin your investment if you don't know about it.I won't summarize the manual here but I will touch upon two key things you need to be sure of before buying/using a gas powered machine like this WPX3400.- Be liberal with the "sample oil" included inside the box. I'd say use about 3/4 of the entire bottle, if not more. Use the dipstick to check the fill reading, and keep adding a few pours until it's at the right fill.- Connect your garden hose to the outdoor spigot and run the water for a few minutes before connecting it to the WPX3400. You want the hose full of water and not have any air pockets spurting out. Once the flowing end of the hose is pouring solidly, turn the spigot back off.- With the spigot turned off, connect the other end of the hose to the WPX3400. Go back and turn the spigot back on. With water now flowing directly to the machine, follow the startup procedure written in the manual, the basics being: Turn Power On; Turn Fuel Valve to On Position; Make sure engine is in "Choke" position; and give the ripcord a solid tug. If it doesn't start by the fourth or fifth pull, turn the water off and reassess.A few other helpful tips:- Once you get the machine running for the first time, don't worry about a stall or some slight oil burn. You want that first use to be continuous water spraying for several minutes.- On each successive Power Washing Session - you ALWAYS want to have the water spraying out of the nozzle at all times. If you need to let go of the nozzle trigger for any reason, try to get your finger back on that trigger as soon as you can. Ideally, you want to be continuously spraying water from the nozzle the entire time you are washing. Yes, this might seem like a waste of fresh water, but this is how you care for your investment. Instead of letting go of the trigger, move the nozzle away from your target and spray at the ground or into the air, and keep doing so until you are ready to spray your target area again.- If you know that you'll need to stop spraying for longer than 20-30 seconds, STOP what you are doing and TURN THE ENGINE OFF.- That might sound a little crazy, but this will preserve the engine life and performance.- Don't ever leave the engine running without spraying through a pressurized nozzle for more than 30 seconds.- If you need to stop your work for longer than that, turn off the engine; move the fuel switch to off and the engine switch back to "choke", then turn the water off at the Spigot. Disconnect the hose from the WPX3400, then pull the trigger on the nozzle to release any remaining pressure.- Do not attempt to change the spray nozzle until you have released all pressure.

Solid Performance and Easy Setup — Matched my expectations
I’ve had the opportunity to use the WPX3400 extensively over the past weekend, and overall, it delivered a dependable experience. The product arrived well-packaged and undamaged. Assembly was very straightforward — it took minimal time and required only minimal tools (allen wrench and a few tools to hold/tighten bolts). Once assembled, I was able to start the engine with just one or two pulls consistently.I went from unboxing to completing nearly 10 hours of pressure washing over two days without any issues. The washer provided ample pressure for cleaning tough surfaces. I used it in conjunction with an 18-inch disc surface cleaner, and it handled patios, sidewalks, driveway and patio furniture. What initially influenced my purchase was seeing it rated #1 by a well known consumer products review source (C R), and my real-world use reflected that ranking. The pressure washer performed exactly as I had hoped based on that recommendation. If you're looking for a reliable option that requires little effort to get started and worked well through longer jobs, this one has proven itself capable.

**I strongly do not recommend this product.**
I ordered this pressure washer based on its excellent reviews, and the price seemed like a great deal. However, right after the first use, the engine jammed within minutes and wouldn’t start again. I contacted Amazon support, and they sent a replacement—which made me happy, but not for long! The second pressure washer broke after just an hour of use. The metal pump cracked, and the damage kept spreading (see the attached photo). At that point, I didn’t even bother requesting another replacement. Instead, I took the pump from the first broken washer (the one with the jammed engine—LMAO) and swapped it. Surprisingly, this Frankenstein setup actually worked! It’s been holding up for about 10 days so far.I’ll update this review when (not *if*) it finally dies. Save your money—this thing is a gamble.I gave it 5 stars so you could see this review.
