Really Great For Serious Ankle Rehab
After breaking my ankle last July and finally getting out of the boot cast in October, I was sent for four weeks of PT. This is the exact board the physical therapist had me use in her office and I found it incredibly helpful for increasing mobility, flexibility, proprioception, and strength. My ankle always felt a little more comfortable after going through the exercises, both dorsiflexion and lateral flexation. When my insurance ran out, rather than continuing PT and paying cash for the office visits out of pocket, I decided to make the investment and purchase the rocker board (and the wobble board) so that I could continue to improve at home. For perspective sake, the price of the rocker board was the same price as one single office visit paid for out of pocket. The board itself is heavy and very sturdy/stable. It looks to me as if it is made from multiple layers of plywood (not, as some reviews mistakenly described, plastic). It has non slip tape on the top that keeps your bare foot secure. It has an ingenious locking device on the bottom that allows you to change the angle at which you're using the board so that as you improve, you can continue to challenge the muscles (and the ankle joint). I use it on top of a non-slip yoga mat to keep it in place on the floor, otherwise the hard plastic ball on the bottom (on which it rests) would slip on our woods floors. This is imperative for safety! At the very least, place it on a rug. Some reviews complain about the price point. Is it pricey? Not when compared to PT. It's made in Canada instead of China, so you are supporting an industry close to home that you know has fair labor practices and conditions (plus, that pretty much guarantees it is not manufactured with something poisonous). The board is seriously substantial and feels to me as if it could last a lifetime and then some. I keep it propped up in the living room and as I am typing this right now, I am using it beneath the dining room table where I am seated. Bottom line, it's only worth it if you're going to use it. But if you do use it, I think you'll see a difference in your ankle/foot rehab.

Great, quality product!
I first used this board in physical therapy. I have had a hip and ankle injury that required physical therapy. They had me use this board and I could feel all the weak areas in my legs and hips. I KNEW I needed to use this board at home EVERY day to get stronger and work on my balance. It's great because you can adjust the bottom domes to three heights, so as one becomes too easy you can move it to the higher level. It has a great nonskid texture too, so your feet stay in place. You can start out slow and work up to more challenging exercises. You can do a forward/backward rock, then turn it the other way to do side to side and balancing, almost like a skateboard or surfboard. Really works all those tiny muscles in there that most people dont work on every day. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to strengthen their lower body, and improve their balance.

Excellent !!
What a terrific balance board ! I had bought a much cheaper board and almost broke my neck, yikes.. I quickly decided to go ahead & buy the Fitterfirst board, which is what is used at the physical therapy clinic I’ve been going to. This board is perfect for working on strengthening & balance. It’s now part of my daily routine.

Solid
I used this model at PT for ankle sprain & tendinitis. It’s great for strengthening at home. Solidly made . I use it barefoot & would have liked the surface to have more grit for gripping

Therapeutic and good quality
I put off purchasing this board due to the price, but after a month of physical therapy, I bought it and was glad I did. I had knee surgery this summer and 6 months later, just had the same surgery on other knee. Balance is very key to rehab and returning to good function. There are other exercises one can do and one can also use other balance devices that you might have already at home (ie the soft blue 1/2 circle things that are popular for core exercises)-so it is not necessary to purchase this. For me, it is worth the investment because I have a long course of rehab and I use it sometimes more than once a day. Other members of my family started using it too-there is a booklet that describes different techniques that can be used for different goals-and I leave it out to encourage that as well.It is high quality-just like at the physical therapy office. The product works very well-the things that are on the bottom of the board are just the right size so to not be too easy or too difficult to use. The top of the board has non slip rubber on it to ensure you won't slip.If you can make the $100 investment, I recommend this product for quality and therapeutic function.

More challenging and adjustable tilt is what I needed vs. less expensive boards
This is the same board my PT used for me in recovery for a trimalleolar ankle fracture. I am 62 years old and physically active so I started with a baseline of fitness. I had bought a different board on Amazon (from the Woodure Store) that was a fraction of the price and had to return it because the tilt was not adjustable and not challenging enough for me. This one is pricey but I ended up biting the bullet and buying because the balance work we've been doing on it has really helped with my recovery and I wanted to continue at home. The other board was well made and would be sufficient for someone who has limited balancing experience or does not have a baseline of fitness but this one is the way to go if you need a more challenging tilt - I also like that the tilt is adjustable so you can increase the difficulty. There also was no assembly involved which was great. The only reason it gets 4 vs. 5 stars is the high price tag.

Great product
This rocker board is far above others and one I returned. Great for general balance but perfect for seniors (I'm 80). This board goes both back to back, and side to side. An important feature. You can also increased the height off the floor. Yes, it is a little pricier but well worth it.
