Color choices suck, but overall a good book
PROS- The watercolor paper used in the book is quite decent. I really liked it. I don't know if it will take lots of water but I found it wonderful for the types of projects in the book. I would gladly buy this watercolor paper if it was sold separately.- If you need some sort of structure for your learning, this book provides it. If you have to stop because life happened, you can simply pick up where you left off.- The images are already 'drawn' in, so to speak. One of my biggest hurdles is that I don't like drawing so I appreciated having all the images all ready for me.CONS- Most of the subjects are pretty. However, there are some that feature people and I didn't like these one bit. Florals means florals, not people.- What I thoroughly despise is the artist's color choices and suggestions. They are dull and so, so boring. but I stuck with them for a bit to give them a fighting chance. But I just couldn't go on with them. They put me off so much it made me not look forward to the projects. So I just switched out all her suggestions except for a couple.- Her color mixes use a lot of white. I'm not a watercolor purist so I don't mind using white now and again but she calls for them way too often and they make your paints too opaque and everything ends up looking milky.- The print it small so if you have issues with your vision, you might struggle a tad with reading.
