I tried this on a whim because I knew he liked brothy food
My 16-year-old cat suffered renal failure (one kidney only, the other one still works) and lost his appetite. He got dehydrated and really sick very quickly. I took him to the vet and she thought he was not long for this world. But she gave him subcutaneous fluids and an appetite stimulant, and told me he could do well again (aside from the muscle wasting in his haunches) if I could get him to eat. I tried this on a whim because I knew he liked brothy food, and he loved it! He started eating like a horse, long after the appetite stimulant was history. He has maintained a healthy appetite, drinks plenty of water as well, and seems like a healthy cat again. He does have significantly reduced strength in his haunches due to the existing muscle loss, but he manages to get around very well anyway. This food has been a godsend for me. I supplement it with some expensive poached salmon and roasted chicken from Petsmart, but he by far prefers the Senior Lickables. At this point I will give him anything he wants to eat, but the bonus is that this food has extra supplements for older cats. It's not pure, organic, packaged by angels, but it's been great for my older cat so far. ** UPDATE: July 2, 2016 -- My beloved Mister Big lived a good long time after I wrote this and continued to enjoy eating this food even when he was at the end of his life. He licked up some of this food on his very last day, before he passed peacefully. Most cats will not eat when they are that sick, but Mister Big loved this food and would even lick the juice off of my fingers. I am very grateful for the pleasure it brought him, all the way to the very end of his life. Also, I thank all of you who have left such wonderfully supportive comments for me. It has meant a lot.

Cat Approved Long Term (she’s been eating it for 5 years)
If you ever had any questions on which wet cat food to purchase, stop questioning and let them try this! Squid (that’s her name) has been eating this brand every night for 5 years. She is only 7 but I been giving her the seniors 10+ or 15+ version since 2020 (because of the food shortage back than and this was all that was available) I noticed an almost instant change in her skin and fur which I was assume it is due to the vitamin E. (Added some photos to show her shiny coat) She is obsessed with it, the second she sees me pull out the pack she meows with excitement. She has a preference now for the seniors haha! The smell is bearable compared to all other wet cat foods which is another plus. I really like the new packaging it makes emptying it out easier. It is pricier compared to other wet cat foods but it is worth every penny. I haven’t noticed anything negative, for example she hasn’t thrown up from it. If you care about your cats health i would, without a doubt, consider purchasing this for them. I do wish that the chicken chunks were a bit smaller because she laps up the goo and leave the few larger chunks behind, but that is probably the only thing I could complain about and that is not a big deal at all. Perfect for your picky eaters!

For gereatric cat, this can be life saver.
Old cats seem to stop eating sometimes, something in them seems to trigger them to go into death spiral mode without rhyme nor reason. I have just went though this twice now in last couple months. First one was 16 year old, tried just about everything. I had noticed this on shelf at Walmart and bought couple, not expecting much. By gosh the old gal started licking at the gravy. It took couple three days but finally she was back to normal eating though I have continued to supplement her food with one of these. Second cat just recently, wouldnt eat or drink, at least I caught it within day. First time I offered, she wouldnt even touch this, just sniffed it like she was really tempted, but turned away. But spent lot time with her. Next morning offered it again. This time she ate about half teaspoon. That evening maybe a tablespoon. Today she ate couple tablespoon and drank water. Later a bit of plain whole milk yogurt. She is headed to recovery. She is 17 so no guarantees of anything with old animals. Also when animal that old, its downright cruel to force feed them. Its like force feeding a 100 year old human.... what exactly is the point.Just saying this is true bargain that seems to work to tempt non-eating cat when nothing else will. Whoever came up with it deserves a sixth star in middle of their forehead. I wish I had known about it before, might gave couple other old cats I had in years past a bit more time. And nice to have some of this on hand. I had bought all the local Walmart had first go around. Took them forever to restock.
