For classroom use, I suggest two sets and a bucket for storage. You cannot store them in the original box. I can't be more specific because the set is now out of state with a family member.

How many each piece is there I have both numbers and letters and they all got merged together and want to separate them?

Can you form all 26 letters at once or are there only enough pieces to form part of the alphabet at a time?

No, I don't believe you can build the whole alphabet at once with this set. It's better for building individual letters or words.
