Lifetime 60348 Marine Dock, 130 Gallon Deck Box, Arctic White

Used as a dock box next to my boat to store stuff not needed on a given trip.Firstly assembly is really nearly as bad as others have indicated, but the instructions are accurate, there are not many steps, and assembly does eventually happen. The difficulty is in installing the screws into the metal hinges which are large screws that self tap into the metal. You will need a decent wrench to do this or be very skilled and strong if you do not. Seek help if you are not handy with tools. If you are you can skip a trip to the gym.When assembled the box is good looking with a nice finish.The box is pretty big and not heavy. I was a bit concerned it would move if not secured so installed 20lb of dive weights, plus added a lot of stuff to the box. My boat has little onboard storage so I store everything in the box I am not using for the trip.Caution: You must use a lock or something similar or the lid will blow open in strong winds.I wondered why my box kept being moved out of place by 6 inches or so. The answer I discovered was the font of my boat was actually hitting the box and pushing it on the dock as the tide changed, glad I didn't screw it down lol. No damage to the box even when hit by a boat, a solid box, a fiberglass box would probably have cracked. I think this will last me quite a few years.

Well made, looks good on my patio. Roomy enough to store beach chairs, pool floats, etc. Better than many cheaply made boxes especially when living on the beach

Went together easily enough. White box looks good on the dock without breaking the bank. I just ran lag screws through the floor to secure

The container is made of very high quality plastic. The unit assembled easily. After a year of use, it is holding up nicely. I use if for a dock box. I like that you can lock it securely. It has larger capacity and is waterproof.

I didn't want to pop for the Taylor Marine boxes, while they are definitely heavy duty they seem quite overpriced. I had this box put together in a little over half an hour and fitted to my dock not long after. This box will see pretty brutal conditions so I really don't expect perfection. However I think a few things could have been improved to give it more of a fighting chance. This box is more solid than a similar deck box I use inside of the porch of our beach house. But the plastic could be a bit thicker in the areas where you need to run screws into because much like the Lesser box, they quickly strip out when tightened. Not that big of a deal but it would be a nice addition. The two metal tabs that are to be used as hold Downs don't make a lot of sense at least in my application. This box will be subject to a lot of wind and attempting to use ropes to lash it down will only allow the box to slide around within the slack of the ropes. The openings are far too wide to use lag bolts and a fat fender washer. As pictured I basically sandwiched the whole Downs with 1x4 pieces of wood and stainless deck screws. It's now locked into place and can't lift out. Two other small things, the latch can accept a small padlock or carabiner but the lid will lift in strong wind and allow the elements to get in. If you expect a bad storm you might want to use a wire tie to keep it closed. And lastly, the hydraulic shock pin snapped upon installation, likely the cause of cheap metal. I will see if they offer a new one and will report back.

This is my 2nd one. First I order last year for patio and is great but this one I need it for my basement to store christmas garlands. Take me few months to think where to store those garlands. I have a lot of them for outdoor and indoor decoration. First I was thinking of IKEA closet system which I already have it on one of the walls in basement but will cost me around $1,000, then I was thinking about those Webstaurantstore.com very heavy shelves system but will cost me around $700 I use them in the laundry room and they are great for storage but they will be open and I need something with doors. Finally I look on my patio box and finally I know what I want. The white one cost me around $290 but is perfect and nothing can beat the price. I like so much LIFETIME products. I also have those planters boxes and they are great. Well, those patio boxes are not only for outside. This is perfect solution for indoor storage too. Very durable easy to assemble. Lid was a little snug and hard to fit at first but ended up all good.

Another great product from Lifetime. Sturdy and well made high quality plastic. Remains to be seen how it stands up to UV light but looks good so far. I think it will last a long time.
