YES! WORKS FOR ME! It's great!
I just got this computer hooked up last night, and it probably took 5 minutes. It's great! very happy. I don't care that it doesn't have a DVD writer (assuming that's the thingie that plays a dvd/cd/ or that you can create cds with.) What I like is that it's fast, and set up couldn't be simpler. DVD writers aren't very much if I decide I need one. This computer I'm using for studying. A DVD writer looks like it costs @ $20-$25, so if I need one, it's affordable. One thing though, I bought this a couple weeks ago, and it was about 100 dollars less :) than it is now. Keep an eye on the price. It may drop again.

Easy to setup and use.
This computer is quick and easy to use. The only thing I wished I could change is that it doesn't come with a Drive so I could use my CD photos. However I bought an external drive and I'm happy.

Almost perfect
My previous computer that I bought about 10 years ago wouldn't turn on a few days ago and I needed to get a replacement fast because I work remotely, and I picked this one for various reasons. Namely, the price was right, it was in stock, and it would get here quickly.I set it up last night and everything seemed to be running smoothly, but then I decided to do the Windows update that you always have to do after setting up your new PC. After it rebooted, I tried to open Chrome and up popped the BSOD. Not really something you want to have happen before you even get to really use your new computer. Luckily, it seems that it was just a glitch from the update and it's been working perfectly since it rebooted. The other issue I had was installing the driver for my wifi printer, but it turns out that my VPN auto-connected and all I had to do was disconnect it. I guess that's not an issue with the computer, but I thought I'd mention it. Also, the picture makes it look like there's a dvd/cd drive. There is not.Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. This computer fits my needs for work, and it's nice to not have to wait 20 minutes for my computer to boot anymore.

Great for Work.
I bought this as a remote work PC. I have no complaints nice system great for what I use it for. Much faster than most employer PCs which are always way too slow to do anything. I wonder how anybody gets anything done.

anemic PC but functional for office or basic HTPC needs
This PC is anemic but probably represents an acceptable value (considering the pandemic shortages of electronics) for anyone who needs an office PC or for use as a basic HTPC.The Pentium Gold G6400 cpu performs worse than I anticipated, scoring around 400 single thread and 1200 multi-thread. As a comparison, an old 2013 vintage Athlon A10-6790K scored around 265 single and 860 multi on my previous PC.As is typical with OEM PC manufacturers, this machine is full of crapware. It has a bunch of useless HP-branded crapware (non of which is needed), and this PC also had installations of Amazon, Booking.com, Dropbox, ExpressVPN, McAfee security suite (requires payment for updates, therefore useless), Office promo (not the program, just links to buy), Netflix, Simple Solitaire, and Wildtangent. The case accommodates 4 expansion slots, but the mainboard only has 2 slots. The Bios was obsolete (F.13, dated July 2020) but a new bios was found on the HP website (the HP update software did NOT offer to update the bios). The latest bios of the date of this review was F.20 and dates from early 2021.The PC does NOT come with a DVD drive or Bluray drive. It does have a bunch (8) high speed USB ports.Video-out options are (1) HDMI and (1) DVI.I use this PC exclusively for HTPC purposes, connected to a 50-inch Toshiba LED TV, and with a Hauppauge OTA TV dual-tuner card. It can play 1080p video fine but was unable to play 4K Youtube streams without dropping frames. Disappointing but not a deal-breaker for me.Before the pandemic, this PC would not be a value. Right now, it probably is a "fair" value *if* you catch it on sale (which I did here at Amazon). For anyone into gaming or needing 4K video, stay away.

No Dvd/Cd Slot
Great product. Other than it does not come with the dvd/cd slot.

Beware of free malware protection and what comes with a product.
Didn't have the internal disc drive for me to install a disc such as TurboTax. I had to purchase an external disc drive. Also I was supposed to have a free 30 days of McAfee but 3 days after receiving the item I started installing my important sites and was hacked by a scammer. I thought malware protection was supposed to be provided by McAfee for 30 days. Luckily I was able to deal with it successfully for myself.

Working from home and switch from laptop to desktop
Great deal for those working from home. I used to have my laptop setup for working, but recently made the switch to this desktop computer. Everything works incredibly fast and if 4x times less than the Apple laptop I was originally going to buy. Super happy with the purchase and I’d highly recommend a desktop to anyone who is working from home and needs computing power.
