I bought this for the wife. Of course, being a big kid, I brought it out to play with and "quality control". It was very bright and in the low light of the house at the time, it easily grabbed the attention of the wife's gigantic and very ill mannered Manx cat, Darryll. Darryll immediately mistook the laser dot as prey and instincts kicked in. At this time, I didn't even notice the oversized death merchant and was unaware it had nefarious intentions for both me and the red witchcraft in my hand. I bounced it playfully along the wall and floor, back and forth, oblivious to the impending doom that awaited me. About 1/1millionth of a second after first contact, Darryll leapt to action, and in a move described by onlookers as a whirlwind of claws and blood, went to work on my bald head with fervor. I don't know how my hairless scalp coralated to red laser dot on wall, but in his mind, there was one hell of a connection. After removing the whirling derbish from atop my dome and launching him through our second story window to what turned out to be a watery landing in our pool, I surveyed the damage from the severe lacerations rendered to my now bloody and torn melon in the shiny spot on our fridge because I didn't want to spew blood all over my wife's carpet and risk further detriment to my person. Lucky for me, my wife was out shopping with our boys and I was able to clean up the blood and mess from my run in with the ferocious feline. I did however forget to wipe off the blood from the laser and she was very inquisitive as to the origin of the red crust besmirching the otherwise pristine coating on this superior product. When she used it to sight in her Desert Eagle it worked awesome. Not so good for her bazooka.4.9 Stars

Adequate for very short range use. Red laser not visible outside in any sort of sunlight beyond about 75 feet. Instructions are provided in a microscopic font and are difficult to understand. Roller switch does not work. You need to disassemble to turn it off.

How can this item has 3.8/5 rating? I should have trusted the 1 start rating and not waste my time.First of all, the item I received had to be an open box / returned item. The instruction paper was just randomly folded, the foam in the box was ripped. The black rubber pieces that supposed to fit the barrels were cracked, ripped, except the biggest one, so I was not sure if it was purposely ripped as part of the design.Then, I thought if it works I would still keep it. BUT IT DID NOT WORK. First of all, the battery pack of 6 were new in the packaging, but first 3 only work about 30 seconds, then dim to very low light, that I could barely see from 20 feet away. Then, I put in the 2nd set of 3 batteries, the laser light stayed on. I first tried it with my pistol with 3.1" barrel, this device's pointy end was too long for the barrel with 1" more before the thick part of it can sit at the tip of the barrel, so it just simply hanging down. It just won't work like that. I did not even bother to try it on the revolver with short barrel too. Then I tried it with my 16" barrel AR 15, 556/223, and it did not work either. black rubber plug attached to the pointy end did not sit well in the barrel, maybe because it was cracked / ripped as how I received it. Then, even the thicker part could sit at the opening of the barrel, it still had a little wiggle room. Even it was very little, but made a huge difference 15 yard away. I tried my best to have it stabilized and see if it works. I had a RDS that is perfectly zeroed for 25 / 50 yard, but this thing is at 2" below. Funny thing was, I had my rifle on a bipod, but I still had to hold my breath to aim, because a little wiggle, the laser moved.It was no way that it could work. I have to return it. I am more angry at the 5 star reviews than the seller.

I was skeptical after reading reviews about how the the sight did not fit properly in .22 barrells and how the laser dot was not properly centered and needed to be adjusted. But, I'm happy to report that mine has worked perfectly. The dot is perfectly centered and it stays centered even when projected at a distance while rotating the device (it does not draw a circle). Also, it fits perfectly snug in my .22lr rifle.It's possible that a revised version is being shipped now that addresses issues raised in earlier reviews. Evidence of this is how other reviews refer to the various adapters as "rings," as I would describe the adapters that shipped with mine as "cylinders." It is very common for products imported from China to go through multiple iterations. It's also possible that in some cases the laser is thrown out of adjustment during shipping. Either way, what I received has been flawless so far.The build quality is decent and overall it feels and performs as I would expect from a much more expensive device. I don't plan on throwing it against the wall so I expect it to last. Little reason to bring it in the field since you can bore sight at home and then dial in at the range. After using this device, I don't see the point in considering much more expensive options that probably near identical to this one.Also, the company behind the product, Pinty, has great customer services. I emailed them with a question I had about another one of their products and they got back to me right away and they continued emailing back and forth with me until everything was good. That's why, if you're worried about the quality of this product, I say go for it and if you have any problems, just email Pinty and I'm sure they will get you sorted one way or another.
