Perfect
Purchased for my daughter who loves taking naps, but prefers to have total darkness and would live in a pitch-black cave if she could. She says this mask is super comfy....the band fits around her head perfectly without slipping or constricting, the mask is soft and smooth on her face and entirely non-irritating, it doesnt leave any marks on her face after she wakes up, and most importantly, it blocks out the light completely. She was even able to take a nap during a 3 hour car ride in South Florida in the middle of summer in a car without tinted windows!10/10, definitely worth it if you need complete darkness to sleep.

All Around Good Fit and Works Great
I've actually bought two of these, even though the reason I bought the second one was because I had lost the first one. If you're a disorganized or forgetful person who might also have a cluttered bedroom, do yourself a favor - either hang your mask on a hook, put it in a safe drawer, or keep it in one spot where you'll always know to find it. The little flimsy bag they give you is useless, although - let's be real, that's not what you're paying for - and I lost the first one very quickly because it's small, dark, and has slippery fabric that can hide easily in the laundry basket. Of course, I found the first one on the same day the second one arrived in the mail. I'm not complaining at all however, this is an awesome enough buy that I'm more than happy to own two of them. The band fits very well and comfortably around the head, without putting too much pressure on the eyes. It might seem like the elastic band adjusts and slides too easily at first, but once it's in place it stays put and I think it's actually designed to adjust easily in order to prevent it from getting twisted, tangled, or too tight around your head while you're sleeping. I've worn the mask with my hair in a pony tail, braids, and down - the mask stayed in place, comfortably, every time. My boyfriend also has long hair, although it's much heavier and thicker than mine, but he didn't have any problems wearing it either. He's actually stolen my extra mask a few times, because he says he likes to use it when he has to sleep during the day. Size wise, it fits my face and eye area very well. It's long enough to fall past my cheekbones and sufficiently block out any light, but it's not too long that it covers too much of my face and it fits well above my nose without being weird. I'm an average sized female with an average sized head, so my opinion is that it would fit just about any size face or head comfortably (maybe a few exceptions for especially petite or tall, lol). The fabric is very soft and smooth, so it feels pretty awesome on your face. It's light enough that it doesn't seem too obtrusive and/or awkward to wear while falling asleep. The fabric on the main part of the mask doesn't seem to retain any heat or moisture either, so you won't wake up with your face feeling sticky or sweaty. I've been using it to sleep, approximately every other day or so, for the past 3-4 weeks. I haven't had any problems with the quality, it always works very well, helps me fall asleep quickly, and I haven't had any problems with it reacting to my skin or causing any breakouts (huge plus! lol). All in all, I definitely give this sleep mask a 5 star rating ~ Highly recommend! (I'm not one of those lucky ducks who receives products for free or at discount to write reviews, either. Although that does sound like a pretty awesome gig.)

Fantastic purchase for most anyone
Excellent customer service from this brand. I've been trying to find an eye mask that works while I'm sleeping with my full mask cpap, and it's been tough. I tried two of the masks from Alaska bear and while they were not compatible with my cpap, the quality was fantastic. This one was soft and very comfortable, and the one I tried before it (the one with the stars on it) was even better. If you are someone who doesn't need a full mask for their sleep apnea, your search ends here. You won't regret it. Someone from Alaska bear even reached out to me to assist me in finding a mask that works when I returned the first one. In a world with declining quality of customer service, and no one really holding businesses accountable for poor practices, Alaska Bear truly cares about the quality of their brand. Comfort:Excellent Design:Simple and effective (though I like their one with the stars more) Size:Adjustable Velcro:NoneColor:Silky blackWhy did you pick this product vs others?:The brand had many positive reviews and I now understand why.

Blocks enough light if you fit it just right!
I first bought the original black mask in February 2016 and used it for about four months, and it held up okay! I think fine-tuning the strap and expanding the coverage area would do wonders, but for the time being it served its purpose decently. I used it when I was first dating my significant other (SO) who would needlessly do things like turning on the bedroom light and/or the hallway light (which also shines into the bedroom) as (s)he was rising and getting ready for work. I observed...Personal pros:-Solid, fully opaque coloring with a body and strap that are smooth and comfortable to the touch. Precisely zero light infiltrated the mask and the strap was easy to adjust in a snap, making restful sleep slightly more attainable.-The soft mask was comfortable to feel directly on top of my face and surrounding areas, especially when laying on my back, as if it were a thin silky smooth wrist rest (such as those on a mouse pad).Personal cons:-The tension area of the strap being directly behind the head made it difficult to adjust the mask just right; the mask was slippery even if it was slightly loose and uncomfortably tight even if it was slightly tightened. I got on fine by wearing the mask loose and sandwiching thin barriers (cotton, packing peanuts, soft cloth) between the strap and my head, but perhaps widening the strap might help spread out the tension and thus reduce this need.-While the front of the mask blocked all light it was difficult to cover the area around the bottom of my eyes, which sometimes allowed even the tiniest ray of light to spill through and wake me up. I got by okay by switching from sleeping on my back to my side with the occasional night where it was shifted off my face, but perhaps widening the bottom and/or adding virtual reality headset-style curves might help.Overall I recommend this mask for short-term use. It was soft, nice-looking, easy to adjust and superbly blocked out what light it could, while being finicky (easily too tight/loose) about the perfect fit and limited to a smaller-than-desirable coverage area. Luckily soon after I stopped wearing this I also dumped my SO, installed thin roller shades for daytime privacy and blackout curtains for light blocking/temperature control, and have not looked back since! While not perfect this mask certainly helped dim the bright red flag that was my ex (seriously, I do not recommend dating anyone who inconsiderately forces you to make superfluous changes), and altogether, gets at least an easy 4/5 from me!
