Alaska Bear Sleep Mask Silk Cover Eye Contour for Pressure-Free Sleeping, Upgrade Over Conventional Flat Satin Eye Masks, Machine Washable

Purchased for my daughter who loves taking naps, but prefers to have total darkness and would live in a pitch-black cave if she could. She says this mask is super comfy....the band fits around her head perfectly without slipping or constricting, the mask is soft and smooth on her face and entirely non-irritating, it doesnt leave any marks on her face after she wakes up, and most importantly, it blocks out the light completely. She was even able to take a nap during a 3 hour car ride in South Florida in the middle of summer in a car without tinted windows!10/10, definitely worth it if you need complete darkness to sleep.

Pros:This mask works extremely well for me. The strap was already at the perfect tightness for my head; not too loose, not too tight. Obviously your mileage may vary, but it's adjustable, so there shouldn't be any issues. The fabric is very comfortable (silky smooth), so I really don't notice it on my face. And it stays on incredibly well. I've yet to have it slip far enough off that the light shines through and bothers me, which is all you can ask for. I alternate between sleeping on my back, side, and stomach, and it stays on very well. At only $10 USD, this mask is an absolute bargain.Cons:There is a little bit of light bleed at the bottom of the nose. That being said, it's not substantial enough to where it's something I personally notice when sleeping, even in a sun-soaked room. Also, while there is *some* contour that allows space for your eyes, it's very minimal, so it still rests on your eyes. I can't open them with the mask on. I'm not sensitive to having something pressed against my eye, but I do wake up a bit more crusty-eyed than normal. Again, it's not substantial enough to make or break for me, but if it's something you're sensitive too, I'd consider something with more of a cup to leave space for your eyes to breathe.I would give this 4.5 stars if I could, but since the cons don't bother me all that much, I'll go ahead and say 5 stars. If it was any more expensive, I'd say do more research, but since it's only $10, I'd say it's definitely worth giving a try if you're looking to buy your first sleep mask.

I’ve used this mask twice and it’s better than any of the ones I’ve been using for years. The adjustable elastic band is perfect, neither too tight nor too loose. The mask doesn’t let in any light, which has been a problem on all my other masks. Even a tiny opening would keep me from sleeping. The mask is soft and pillowy, so comfortable!

I ordered both the Alaska Bear single and double strap black silk eye/sleep masks. After trying them both, I personally prefer the single strap version the best. The double (2 strap) version is somewhat difficult to put on and adjust the straps. The straps are not as wide or as stretchy on that one for some reason. I do have long hair and that may be a factor as to why I find it difficult to use. You really have to put the lower strap in the proper position first. I also have some mobility issues with one of my arms/hands; so that is also something to keep in mind if you are considering ordering these. The single strap version has a wider band and is very easy to adjust.With that said, these washed very well. I have washed the single strap eye/sleep mask twice now. It is very comfortable to wear and does a good job of blocking out light. It also stays in place throughout the night. I have not had any problems with it sliding or moving around that I can recall.I did have some issues during the checkout process when I ordered these, but the Seller was very helpful and took care of that for me. Also received relpies in a timely manner when I submitted questions about these eye/sleep masks to this Seller.These are actually much easier to care for than I anticipated. These are the first silk versions of an eye/sleep mask that I have ever tried or purchased. As I previously mentioned, I like the single strap version the best. It is plenty large enough to provide more than adequate coverage and it is very comfortable. It is much different from the foam ones that allow for room if you want to have that option so that you can blink your eyes, etc. So far I am very pleased with the quality. Also I have not had any dye problems with these fading on my pillow cases which is exactly why I decided to try these instead of the foam type masks!Please note that the double (2 strap) version of this eye/sleep mask is extremely large and much bigger in coverage size than the single strap version. It was actually way more coverage than I personally need or prefer. Just thought I would mention that.I have a good feeling about these. They seem to be of good quality and I expect they will hold up well. Excellent customer service from this brand. I've been trying to find an eye mask that works while I'm sleeping with my full mask cpap, and it's been tough. I tried two of the masks from Alaska bear and while they were not compatible with my cpap, the quality was fantastic. This one was soft and very comfortable, and the one I tried before it (the one with the stars on it) was even better. If you are someone who doesn't need a full mask for their sleep apnea, your search ends here. You won't regret it. Someone from Alaska bear even reached out to me to assist me in finding a mask that works when I returned the first one. In a world with declining quality of customer service, and no one really holding businesses accountable for poor practices, Alaska Bear truly cares about the quality of their brand.
