You might want to buy extra blades and parts.
This trimmer cuts a straight line for one! Love that!! You might want to cover yourself in in case the trimmer becomes discontinued, and pick up extra cutting blades and rubber treads for the base as I have already had that happen with my last trimmer. This EK is wonderful! So I have covered myself with this one, which is totally different from the other trimmer I had, and have bought several blades and strips that go under the blades on the trimmer itself in the event it becomes discontinued. I hope that doesn't happen as I really like this one and it's slender and I can take it with me wherever I go. It's a great choice for the $. Enjoy.

My favorite trimmer
This paper cutter is a long time favorite of mine. I use it every time I work on paper crafts. It is relatively compact, the cutting blade is easy to use and replace, and the fold out ruler is great. After extensive use, the plastic hinge holding the cutting blade tends to wear and finally crack, making it difficult but not impossible to use. For the price, I think it's great. If I have to replace it every 2-3 years, it's still worth it.

Dont let Amazon sell you a used item!
The media could not be loaded. I dont know if this is the brand's fault or Amazon warehouse, so I will just document my experience with the item I received. The paper trimmer's package was a little bent which was no big deal because that happens in shipping, upon opening the cutter and examining the blade I could see paper residue on the blade and that there was a warp at one point of this blade. The warp made it impossible to cut a clean straight line. Maybe the person before me warped it and maybe it's just bad quality hardware in general. I cannot in good faith give this any more than one star. Everything I cut at one point would have a jagged line no matter how evenly I lined it up. The securing magnet does nearly nothing for keeping the paper secure as your paper will still move around.I bought this because I needed a rotary trimmer for tumbler wraps and mine got discontinued. I know this is a "lower price" rotary trimmer but I've seen it sold in Target and people on YouTube using it no problem saying you don't need much pressure. However, without much pressure the paper moves and the securing latch is not easy to snap on if you have arthritis, etc. The value for about $30 is 0 stars. I would expect at the very least to be able to cut straight lines. I will be returning this for a refund and getting another brand. Ek tools, I genuinely hope this wasn't your fault and do want to buy your products again- but, probably not through Amazon!

So far so good
I spent a good amount of time researching paper trimmers after my old one broke. Price was one of the reasons I decided on this EK one over a Fiskars one. This cuts well if you have it on a solid flat surface. As soon as it's not completely flat, it makes uneven, curvy cuts. (for example, mine had one corner on two sheets of cardstock and that was enough to make wiggly cuts. I like the "elbow" that makes 6" cuts super easy. The generous size is great, too. What is not my favorite part is the cutting mat. I would prefer a ridge, like Fiskars one has. That can be used for scoring paper, if you don't have a scoring board. My sense is also that the ridge stabilizes the cut (i.e., helps to keep it straight). I haven't used it for very long yet so I can't speak about longevity yet.

Favorite!!
This has been my favorite paper trimmer for many years now, can't paper craft without it! Have tried others and they are not as accurate or easy to use. Love that you can get different blades and they are super easy to switch between. I teach card classes and am a big card maker myself, and this is the one I recommend to everyone!

Love This!!!
I love this paper trimmer! I got it for an amazing price and it cuts beautifully! I was having issues when trimming my printed sublimation paper with my other trimmer leaving a line down the middle of my artwork so I figured id try a rotary style trimmer but didn't want to spend a bunch of money...SO happy I found this little gem!
