SteelSeries Sensei Wireless Laser Gaming Mouse

The media could not be loaded. This mouse isn't wireless. At least, it isn't after the first 20 hours of use when the battery dies. The charging technology is absurdly bad. Not as in, pain to use or slow. It doesn't actually work.At the time of writing this I can use the mouse wirelessly for about 15 hours before the battery dies and once it drops below half the performance deteriorates to the point where you need to plug it in anyway. This means I have about 7-8 hours of usable mouse. After that I have to:1. Turn off my mouse2. Unplug the wireless stand converting it into paperweight mode.3. Plug my mouse in4. Turn mouse onThat's a lot of work for something that isn't supposed to require any of those steps.Furthermore if you forget to turn off your mouse you need to restart your computer to get your mouse back. That is ridiculous.Not only that but the actual wireless of the mouse, while accurate about 99% of the time simply stops tracking the other 1% sometimes for as much as a minute or until you power cycle the mouse. That's all well and good unless you're gaming. You know, that thing this mouse was built for?Even when the wireless charging station works, it requires you to wobble the mouse back and forth until you hit that nanometer wide sweet spot. If you put your computer to sleep or turn it off you mouse will stop charging. If you move the mouse at all or bump your desk or the stand it stops charging.I loved my original SteelSeries Sensei and was looking to replace it with this, but whatever this was meant to be the result is clear and total failure. Avoid this mouse.I've attached a video of me attempting to charge my mouse. If it begins successfully charging pad will pulse green and the mouse will have an orange dot. I spent 30 seconds trying to get it to rest on the charging station. I failed.Edit: Quick update. After 10 months the plastic next to the scroll wheel has begun disintegrating. What kind of build quality is this Steel Series? The charging is still broken as well.

This is my second SteelSerise mouse and I've become a firm believer in their brand. They make such high-quality mice with a lot of very nice features. This one is the only one I saw that was hybrid wireless and at the time I thought they weren't making anymore so I bought a refurbished unit. I've since found out the SteelSerise site is still selling the new unit, it's just not easily found on their site.The unit I received had some contact issues, but it was easily solved with a bit of brass polish restoring the contacts on the base. I've been using it for a few days, and it's great!

Will randomly disconnect. Have to use the wired mode for it to work half the time. I would not recommend this.

Right out of the gate, I'm going to tell you I was disappointed with this mouse. I was looking to free up some space on my desk and the idea of not wrapping my mouse wire around my keyboard for the millionth time was worthwhile. However, after about a month of use, I have already switched back to my Logitech G203. First and foremost, the wireless dock is comically large. Distancing it too far from the mouse will cause ghosting and strange mouse patterns along with intermittent lag. I could never quite find the sweet spot as my mouse would randomly stop responding only to pop back in a few seconds later. If you are planning on using this mouse for gaming...don't. Even wired up the mouse never seemed to be dialed in correctly. Mouse clicks didn't register, the cursor would randomly jump across the screen, wouldn't respond appropriately to my movement and just felt very cheap in my hand. The Steelseries software allows you to change mouse colors and lighting designs but these settings would randomly reset on me all the time only to correct themselves every few hours.Overall, it's a cool looking mouse that doesn't have the hardware to back up its appearance. Save yourself the headache and look into Zowie or Logitech.

Love this mouse but there is an issue, sometimes getting it to connect via wire is difficult and the wireless charging station doesn't always work right. Other then that though this is a great mouse.

I bought this mouse based off early reviews labeling it the best wireless gaming mouse in the world. My mistake! After using this mouse for several months now, there are a few extremely annoying problems that have popped up, and I'm not alone.First and most annoying is the constant slowdowns it experiences. It will literally slow to a crawl randomly every few minutes. It's infuriating! I don't even use the mouse for gaming, I'm just using it for my daily driver as a pro cg artist. I've looked this issue up online and tons of people are experiencing the exact same problem.Secondly and almost as annoying is the crappy battery life, how is it possible for Logitech to make a pro gaming mouse with 250 hrs per charge, and this thing barely lasts a day of use? If I forget to charge it at night, it will be dead within one hour of use in the morning.Lastly the charging base (which is a huge eyesore) is extremely finicky when trying to seat the mouse just right to start charging. My mouse is brand new, so I know it was not a case of the contacts being dirty, I cleaned them just in case and still no improvement.In conclusion, the asking price on this mouse is ridiculous. I bought it anyway because I thought steel series made quality stuff, (except their equally s***ty Apex keyboard.) and if they had the gall to charge this much for a mouse it had better be damned good and perfect. Well I'm sad to say it's not even close and for this price tag, you should expect perfection out of a mouse.I think I'm going to go with the Logitech G602 or Mx Master instead.... and they are literally half the price!
