I think it is because these are sort of synthetic glass crystal. Very pretty but damageable with the usual things eg perfume. It is not the sort of jewellery I would wear in a hot bath etc. Bracelet & pendant still look great and get compliments often. Not damaged at all by normal wear in my experience!
