Rubio is Rubio. It's a top quality benchmark for wood finishes
If you are a Blacktail Studio follower, you know what you are buying. This stuff produces extremely hard-wearing protection layers on hardwoods. My home's stairs - after three years of hard, daily use - still look beautiful. The trick of the trade is to use TINY amount of it and work it well using a soft sponge pad (open or closed pores) on RO. Meticulous prep (sanding, water pop, blowing the dust, etc) is a key to achieve fantastic results.

Goes a long way.
Its expensive but it covers very well and leaves a great finish, its the first time I've used it and it was on a panelled door so had to use a brush but very pleased with finish and it only took one coat

Two coats
Definitely needed two coats but looked fantastic once it was applied.

Great Product shame about the price
Fantastic finish even in inexpert hands. Problem is it's so blooming expensive - hence the deduction of 1 star. I have used it mostly on Oak Veneered sheets. Personally I think the 'monocoat' claim is a little optimistic, I have found 2 coats is best.

Awkward packaging makes the hardener difficult to use. Crazily expensive. No use instructions
The product is fine. However the tins, especially the hardener tin, are difficult to use for the necessary accurate measurement. The pop up cap on the accelerator simply would not work and the pull hook broke off so the tin had to be opened with a knife. It is also ludicrously expensive for 300ml of oil. Not sure it is any better than far cheaper poly X.It came with no instructions for mixing or application and all of the info on the packaging was in Dutch and all about safety precautions. Not that helpful in an English market.

What’s pictured is not what you get!
Brilliant product I’ve used this before. However I paid for a tin and a 300ml bottle turned up! Complete scam

Easy to apply, great finish
If you follow the instructions to the letter, this has to be one of the easiest, fastest wood finishes money can buy.It may seem pricey given the small volume vs other traditional finishes, but you use so little in comparison that, I think, it isn't more expensive. The natural, matt finish is tops.
