Pro Tec Protec Saxophone Harness with Deluxe Metal Trigger Snap-Size: Small, Model A306SM

I bought this harness primarily for my bari sax, since that's a bit of a heavy horn to support with my neck. This harness is comfortable and easy to adjust, and securely clips to the horn. I'm 5'-9" and bought the Large harness to use with my bari and tenor horns. It works great for me on both. I use a traditional neckstrap with alto.The harness has a strap that buckles in front - it's how you get the harness on and off. Once buckled, this front strap also has the sprung clasp to clip to the horn. The clasp hardware is metal, smooth, and black. I would not trust plastic clasps that other harnesses have to hold my $$$ horn. This harness is adjusted by adjusting the side straps like a backpack.I don't have any complaints or even minor negatives about this harness, it may be the best saxophone accessory I've ever purchased.

Good quality and very comfortable

I am in my mid sixties and recently started saxophone lessons. I could tell that the weight of the instrument hanging from a neck strap was not something I could grow old with. This harness is exactly what I needed - all the weight is shifted to the upper back which is oh so much more comfortable than the neck strap, and allows me to practice longer with no discomfort. I ordered a size small and it fits with room to spare for accommodating a larger person or a smaller person (I am 5'3", 115 lb, and rather small chested. I am not sure - maybe a large breasted woman might find the straps uncomfortable .) The plastic-coated snap for holding the instrument feels very secure and is easy to attach. After initially adjusting the harness correctly, I can take it off and on easily with the main latch...no need to readjust it for height or snugness each time it is used. I definitely recommend this harness.

I got this to try to replace my neck strap on alto and tenor. It seems like it will do just fine. The harness is comfortable and adjusts to a pretty wide range. Unfortunately it takes quite a while to adjust to different instruments so I'm not sure how to work it to try to go quickly between instruments. Also, the hook is not smooth. It jerks and catches a bit, but maybe it just needs to be oiled. Overall it's good and some of the kinks will be worked out as I use it more.

Son needed harness for staring bari sax. Needed metal clasp for durability (he says, “I can get away with plastic clasp for tenor and alto, but wouldn’t trust it for bari.”). He’s 5’8 and this fits well for bari use. He says the pad is comfortable, and the weight of the bari is supported through the harness attachment on the back of the pad and through the cross chest strap, so the shoulder pads do not collapse around his neck cutting into it. (He had this problem with Neotech super harness). The bari attachment strap is connected to a chest cross strap and is not stationary and can slide side to side, so he can move the sax holding position from side holding (when sitting) and more front-holding while standing easily without the shoulder pad moving around or need to adjust the harness length. With other harness where the support strap is directly attached to the shoulder pads, to adjust the hold, he has to either readjust he harness length on one side or leave the length unchanged and allow the shoulder pad to slide lopsided to deal with the hold change, which resulted in crumpled shirt around his neck. This cross-brace design does not have this problem.

Tenor and Alto Pro Player. 6'0 160 Lbs.Very good quality. Very comfortable, adjustable, and functional for a precise fit. I am very happy. There are no physical limitations. This can be worn under a sport jacket and you would never see it. No more pressure on your neck, cervical spine and your carotid arteries! Well worth it. Highly recommend.

Bought this in the hopes of lugging around my baritone sax. This probably works well for someone if it fits them. I am 6'3 and broad chested, it was too small for me. Returned.

Works great on my curved soprano and my alto sax! Easy to use takes all pressure off my neck feels nice.
