Great portable or primary 40amp EV Charger
Purchased this to charge primarily charge my 2023 BMW X5 45e. I have the charger hooked up to a 50amp circuit and able to get the full 40 amps when charging a Tesla (with adapter). Unfortunately the BMW limits the max charge to 16amp. The charging cable is thick and does not heat up when charging either car. I have it semi- permanently mounted in the garage and like the cord holder and rubber plug cover to protect it from getting damaged. I like the fact that I can easily throw it in the trunk when I travel.Updated review - December 2023. Just purchased a 2023 Ford Lightning. I was extremely pleased to see the Must Start charger is able to charge the truck faster than the stock Ford Charger. The Must Start is capable of charging the truck in excess of 40 MPH while the Ford is only capable of 20 MPH. The product has worked flawlessly for the past year. Great value especially competing the price is much less than many others on the market.

Convenient portable charger; good customer service
The charger works well (Kia Niro EV) and is less expensive than other options. The best feature is that it's portable (but you need a 220 socket); it packs up like a garden hose. I'm writing this review to mention and perhaps warn you that the charger worked without incident for about six months. One day, the charging would stop after about 45 minutes; I'd have to unplug, replug, and start again, but the charge would interrupt again after about 30 minutes. I read to reduce the charge so I adjusted it to 90% using the car's setting. This helped but the charging would interrupt after about 90-100 minutes. Same result at 80%. This not being a viable solution, I contacted Mustart, who asked me to first send a short video to document the problem. They replaced the product (free shipping both ways) promptly thereafter. The replacement charger works (for now) though I'll keep the charging power at 90%. Companies that stand behind their products and fulfill their warranties without undue hassle when problems arise deserve to be highly commended. I think that they will continue to work with me if I have another problem.

Well made and easy to use
I’ve been using this charger for two months and it’s great. So much sturdier and quicker than the Level 1 charger that came with my BMW i3. In order to get the charger to hang the way I wanted, the electrician had to install the 50A 14-50 plug upside down on the wall. This was the only place in my garage I could hang it, and space was tight. If I didn’t do this, the hose would have to be an S shape, and I didn’t think that would fit right. The hand-held part is very high quality and fits nicely into the car. I like the rubber cover for the nozzle part. I did a lot of research before buying the Mustart. It met all my requirements: can deliver 40 amps (even though my current car can only handle 30A), it is portable so when I move it’s coming with me without an electrician’s help, it displays the actual amps and kilowatts being delivered to the car (nice to know), and it’s under $400. The only feature it really didn’t have was the ability to schedule when to turn on - but my electric company doesn’t charge less during the middle of the night - and my car can handle scheduling anyways. A lot of other competitors didn’t provide a zip up bag to transport the charger and I really like that this one did.The only negative thing I can say is the hardware provided to hang the hose on the wall was too small and low quality for me. I went to a big box store with a garden department and bought a much nicer hose hanger for under $15. I would definitely recommend this product.

Charging cable got stuck in port - Locking latch would not release.
As title suggests - this charging cable got stuck in my KIA 2023 Sorrento PHEV. The locking mechanism on the cable broke - so I literally had to have the vehicle towed to a dealership to have it removed since it won't operate with it attached. Would not release - and Cost me $329. Emailed Manufacturer (with detailed pictures) and asked for a partial refund as the cable is only 3 months old. NO response back and now I have to buy another cable from somewhere else. DO NOT BUY.

Stellar Features and Value for the Money
Certainly, there are many choices for third-party EVSE, and accordingly, chose this Mustart "charger" for several reasons over the others. Predominantly, it was very reasonably priced whereas others often cost twice as much and prove to do nothing more other than being, well, "trendy." But secondly, even at full price, there are but a very small handful that provide digital kWh and other pertinent charging information which provide specific data which is important, to wit: based on what my electric company charges per kWh, I can now tell precisely how much I am paying for the exact amount of energy I have discharged into my vehicle via its digital readout of several pieces of information! I like that. The fact that it sincerely seems solidly built, provides a 25 foot cord that allows me to charge my vehicle at any reasonable area within and far beyond my garage, comes standard with several mounting brackets for the EVSE body, cord and nozzle are but happy bonuses which facilitate sound organization and cord management. This Mustart product (I purchased the 40 amp only version to facilitate my newly-installed 50 amp breaker) is equal to all tasks and so far seems to be a stalwart performer. I might also add that the blue color adds a not-small amount of panache whereas others are gun-metal colored or otherwise boring aesthetically. The single "con" I might have is that I am not enamored that both power and charging cords not exit the body of the EVSE at both the top and bottom. However, a simple cord/outlet plan alleviates any awkward cord routing problems (i.e., I simply had my outlet placed high).I unequivocally believe one need not look further for an amazingly competent EVSE and highly recommend this to anybody with an electric vehicle.
