Comfortable boot
I am now on my fourth pair of these boots! They are so comfortable I wear them every day to work and play. Hiking, fishing, concrete floors at work... spring, summer, fall and winter... all of my activities are in comfort. My feet never get to hot or cold. After about 3 months of wear and tear, I replace the insole with a gel insert... But I even have to do this with my sneakers and dress shoes because I am on my feet all day and I find I need the extra support. Once I purchase an insole for the boot, I am pretty much set for years. I still wear my first pair of boots for dirty jobs around the house(mowing the lawn with a push mower, changing the oil in the vehicles etc.). My point here is that even though they are not the best looking boot in the house, they are still comfortable for me to wear and serve a purpose. I will have to retire them soon because after 4 years of dirty work they are just about out of tread. The remainder of the boot is in real good shape. I will continue to buy these boots for as long as Timberland makes them. Before I found this boot, I would have to purchase a new pair every half year. Now I purchase a new pair once a year.

You can’t go wrong with Timberland!
I have been a hiker for many years and this is my fourth pair of Timberland hiking boots. Of course I’ve tried other brands but there’s something about the reliability, fit and comfort of the Timberland Chocorua that keeps me coming back. Honestly, I can’t see myself using anything else now for a serious hike. So if you’re a serious hiker or thinking about getting into the activity, buy the Timberlands, you’ll thank me later.

Fishing shoe/boot
These hiking boot/shoes are solid made. Only thing i thought was off is the tongue doesnt tuck on sides if you know what i mean. Im tall n skinny not wide legged and tied up there is a little opening on both sides of tongue where it should go underneath the outers of the boot when tied tight. Other than that solid fishing mud hopping shoes thatll take a little bit of abuse.

Perfect fit and soooooo comfortable
The boots look and feel great. One of the things that surprised me is that the boots are very light-weight. They are tough and bulky, the way boots should be but are surprisingly light. They fit perfectly. The inside is extremely comfortable. They have arch support which I need. They are very well padded, like little pillows for your feet. One of the things I really like is that the top two buckle things (not sure what they are called) where you put the laces through are open. So you only use the when you tie them up. It makes it really easy to slide the boots on and off. If you are just casually using them, they don't have to be super tight and are really comfortable. But if you are taking on a trail you can make them very tight so they stay put no matter what you are doing. Pretty versatile. I think they are great.

Excellent quality
This is my second pair of these boots (the first lasted many years and I was delighted to find they were still being made when I bought a new pair last year). They are exceedingly well made and comfortable. They provide great ankle support and they "breathe" so that my feet do not become overly warm. I love them. They are not water-proof, but they are water resistant and dry out very quickly. The tread is very effective in preventing slips and falls.

EXCELLENT HIKING BOOTS
The Timberland Men's 15130 Chocura Trail GTX Boot is the most comfortable hiking boot I have owned. I wore them for the first time last week hiking to Abrams Falls in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, the trail was rocky and some parts muddy and I could hardly feel the rocks, the cushioning is perfect, and I did slip and got one boot completely under water and not a drop of water inside the boot, 100% waterproof. I did take other readers suggestions and ordered a 1/2 size larger than my day to day shoes and the fit was perfect. If you want a very comfortable, waterproof hiking book that provides great support then I highly recommend this hiking boot.

A Tip
Be careful in the wet areas of concrete as the soles are like ice skates...fell once and almost a second time on my walk after rain on concrete and tree roots. I apparently missed the return window of 30 days and didn't realize the wet ground issue until our recent rains...would have liked to exchange for a similar boot with a different sole.

Great boots
My second pair. After 5 years, my other pair have been relegated to yard work. I use them for work, standing and moving about on very hard, unforgiving concrete floors so I can not attest to their use for hiking. They work great for my needs and are one of the most comfortable shoes I own. Slip a half insole in under their removable insole and I am ready to go. Leather seemed a little dried out when i received them so I put some Penguin leather lotion on them and it worked well. I also put sno seal on them and it really really darkened them up so be aware. Would buy again obviously for it is my second pair.
