Perfect Helmet for my Small Head
I lucked out with this helmet. Matches my bike perfectly and I’m a Giro fan! Hard to see in the pictures but fades from hot pink in the back of the helmet to the purple just like on my bike. So happy I found this helmet and the price was great.

Wow - I am glad I moved up to this helmet!
I have been road biking for a couple of years now. My previous helmets were less expensive Giros. I researched scores of helmet brands and found it difficult to decide because there are so many good helmets. I was thinking about the much more expensive Giro Aether when I saw a review from a rider that had experienced both the Synthe and the Aether. He liked the Aether but said he said that nothing is really gained when moving from the Synthe to the Aether. In his Aether review, he recommended the Synthe.I was not very impressed with the looks and colors of many of the expensive helmets. Not even the Giro Aether had the color scheme I wanted. I almost purchased a black one. Then I found this helmet - saw the color scheme and made an immediate purchase. It arrived today. Out of the box, this helmet looks better than in the pictures. It is a work of art. The fit is amazing compared to the cheaper helmets. On my ride, I perceived a more aero feel than the old helmets. This helmet was a great find. Finally, the hunt for a decent helmet is over.

Awesome Aero helmet with safety in mind.
This is a great helmet, I have the regular Synthe and bought this one because of the MIPS improvement. In the previous model I am almost at the higher limit for the size M, it leaves 3 or 4 clicks of adjustment in the roc loc. The Synthe model has a little bit snugger fit because of the MIPS layer(it leaves 1 or 2 clicks for the roc loc) but for me it feels more comfortable and with a better adjustment. Looks really cool when wearing it, compact size so you don't look like a mushroom, lightweight, well vented and considerably silent at high speeds. My only complain to Giro would be that so far there is no Roc Loc Air replacement for the Mips model.UPDATE: After 3 months owning this beauty, I had a bad crash, broke a couple of ribs and hit my head pretty hard. The helmet broke, but I had no harm in my head at all, this helmet probably saved my life. I'm one month off the saddle for now but I'm getting exactly the same helmet as replacement. I just hope to get a $180 deal as the one I got when I bought the first one instead of the full $269 price LOL. USE YOUR HELMET.

Keeps my head nice and cool!
Bought this same helmet (in black) for my wife at local bike store (a week earlier), but they didn't have my size (M) or the olive/hi-viz color that I liked. This was the most expensive helmet at the bike store, so we said let's try it on just to see what the best feels like before we choose a more value-oriented model. Well the difference was so staggering, compared to the other models available, we ended up buying this one (and a 2nd here on Amazon for me)! The helmet is feather-light and VERY comfortable. And best of all we found out later (since we purchased w/out ever riding w/it) that it has amazing air flow that keeps your head cool. We are casual riders (I have a Priority Continuum Onyx commuter bike) i.e. not long distance riders so at first thought this helmet was overkill, but decided why not be as comfortable as possible so we paid-up a bit (vs our orig budget) and have NO regrets!

Super comfy, lightweight and easy to adjust.
This is one of those items where the cost is quite off putting when in the research phase but then once you have used it there is no going back - like a Mac! The differences between this and cheaper Giro helmets are huge (I have the Savant and the Phase). I can't account for its true aero capabilities but there is definitely less buffeting from the wind so that has to count for something! The straps are a big improvement and the RocLoc tensing system continues to be a good system for me. The dedicated storage holes for sunglasses proves useful and holds the glasses a little more securely then when using a normal vent. At this price it would be nice if the helmet came with a storage bag but overall Im very happy with my purchase.

Don't like it as much as my Aeon
Compared to my Giro Aeon this helmet is heavier (30 grams) and hotter. My Medium 2018 Synthe helmet claims to weight 265 grams. Also appears to sit up higher on my head. Does it make me go faster in compensation? So many factors affect speed it is about impossible to say. I will say there is minimal wind noise which suggests superior aerodynamics. Obviously MIPS is an added safety benefit but not a must have for me.Don't assume it will fit like your old Giro. My medium Aeon has more room front to back; I can slip a thin cap under it in winter. There is minimal padding in the Synthe; I don't notice any discomfort- but I wear a head sweat type cover. There is barely enough front to back spacing to fit it.

If the helmet fits...
This is my second Giro Synthe. The first one lasted three years and protected me in a minor crash, so I gladly replaced with a new unit. The Synthe fit works for me, but I also appreciate that the straps sit flush against the side of my head and don't create extra wind noise, the locking mechanism is easy to use, my glasses fit securely in the vents, I can wear the helmet with or without a cap, and the helmet looks pretty good, too - without a lot of swoops or gratuitous "aero" flourishes. It's a quality product that does exactly what it promises to do.

Quality
This helmet is comfortable, light weight, and well constructed. Ventilation is excellent, the appearance is stylish and is not too large. I also love the sunglass holding ports, which is the first time that I have had that feature in a helmet, and while not too excited about it before I bought it, I found that it is extremely useful. The helmet is on the pricey side, but I chose to go with it anyway due to the quality of the product, and attention to detail on all the components. I can't speak to its durability from a crash (knock on wood) since I have not had one with this helmet, but Giro is a reputable company that invests in R&D and testing of their products.
