Wow!!! Outstanding blade!
This is the single best knife I've ever had the pleasure to abuse! I own everything from junk Chinese knives to full on thousand dollar customs. I have never seriously abused one of my customs because that would be stupid but I know if they can go through. this knife exceeds everything I had expected for it! Never have I spent $25 on a knife and be able to abuse it to the level that I can with this as seen in the pictures I uploaded. I was able to process an entire nights worth of firewood splitting logs branches filleting sticks everything I even put on this knife through several 2x6 pressure treated beans! With absolutely no flex to the blade no bending no chipping nothing! I have never seen anything like this for $25 I wholeheartedly expected the tip to snap off last night because there was numerous times that I was splitting wood and there was only about half an inch of tip sticking through the wood because that's all the blade length that I had left and I was still able to smash on that tip with another log and drive the blade all the way through the wood and it still unaffected! The coating is nearly indestructible. And when I say indestructible I mean I can't even stand it off with 2000 grit sandpaper! I am thoroughly blown away by the quality of this knife! This knife is worth four times the amount of money I paid for it, but I'm glad it's not because that would greatly reduce the likelihood of me abusing it to its full potential I'm probably going to be about 4 more of them

A really good knife at an unbeatable price.
I got this knife as a back up to my main carry knives. But it has proven to be a really good knife in it's own right. It carries easy on ones side takes a wicked edge and the ergonomics are good. It is comfortable in the hand with no hot spots. Makes a great medium duty camp, hiking, hunting and EDC knife. I'm amazed that Schrade can produce such a good knife for the very low price. If I'm not wearing it it is in my back pack. Just a real good knife.

Knife is a five star, sheath is a bummer.
I bought this knife with the intent to carry it at work. It is pretty much the perfect size for concealed carry, but is still large enough for hard work. The handle scales are...just about perfect...there is no other way I can describe the feel of this knife in my hand. The shape and size of the handle fits my hand, and it takes zero effort to achieve a positive grip. Wet, dry...this knife isn't slipping out of my hand unless I let it. It is a full tang knife, and is made out of 8cr13mov high carbon stainless steel, which I believe is what most of my other Schrade fixed blades are made of. It is a good steel that I find easy to sharpen to a fine edge, and holds that edge well enough. The blade is finished in a titanium-nitride like coating that seems tough, is very smooth, and is aesthetically pleasing while being non-reflective. Lastly, the edge: not perfect, but pretty good. A lot of my Schrades, especially the larger ones, had a less than symmetrical final edge grind. Basically, I had to take a file to their edges to "even them out." This edge, while not perfect, is not going to require any "re-profiling" from me (good job Shcrade!). And it IS SHARP, this knife came out of the box keen enough to shave hairs off my arm.So you might be wondering why I rate this knife with four stars versus five, when all I've done is gush about how great it is? Because of the sheath. While it seems to have pretty secure retention, I don't think it's going to last. The blade retention relies on little plastic bumps that are molded into the sheath that hold onto the outer edges of the "hilt." I see them wearing away in not a great deal of time...hope I'm wrong. Also, the sheath becomes very bulky at the top, and the belt loop adds to the width at the top. This sheath is terrible compared to the simpler, much more effective sheaths that came with my SCHF13 & 14, which are "Kydex-like", very secure, low profile, and able to be worn on either hip, inverted, or horizontal. Shcrade really has a winner of a knife in this knife, but the sheath is a loser. All is not lost, though...the knife costs so little and is so good, I feel it will be worth a 40 dollar custom Kydex sheath. If you are a guy who makes custom sheaths, and you're reading this, BUY THIS KNIFE AND MAKE A COOL SHEATH FOR IT...you'll make a lot of money selling it. If you just want a great tactical, practical, tough, high quality knife that should cost a lot more...BUY THIS KNIFE. You won't regret it...just find another sheath for it.

Great for everyday carry.
There is nothing not to love about this knife. Blade comes sharp enough, sheeth is well constructed and slender. It has a wide mouth so it's easy to find when returning and a good secure hold. Usually the click-in sheeths are a little loose but this guy is locked in very well. I would be comfortable even carrying this upside down if needed. The handle is a liitle slender so if you have huge hands this thing might be a little small. I wear size large gloves and I like the slenderness for using around the yard and such. Also makes it a GREAT camping knife for women. This is my 3rd Schrade (Neck knife and large camping knife are others) and I am impressed every time it comes to me.

Decent knife for the price, but a marked step down from its predecessor.
I bought one of these knives as a replacement for my old Schrade SCHF30 which was stolen some time ago. The SCHF30 was my favorite fixed blade EDC knife and a fantastic knife for any application. Unfortunately, this knife does not fill its predecessor's shoes. The handle scales are poorly sized to the tang, resulting in a few millimeters of tang protruding at several locatons (not enough to be a serious problem, but definitely enough to annoy you when you do pretty much anything with this knife without gloves), and the jimping on the back of the knife is incredibly aggressive. Gloves are almost mandatory when using this knife unless you want to blister the hell out of your hands. The problems aren't hard to fix if you're handy. Grind down the jimping a little bit and maybe make a new set of better-fitting scales (the rubberized polymer ones are tacky as hell anyways) and you've got a very solid work knife, but the fact that you have to put in that extra effort to get a knife that's actually pleasant to use, whereas the SCHF30 was a fantastic knife straight out of the box, makes this knife an overall disappointment compared to its predecessors in my opinion. Still a decent budget knife and not the worst thing you could carry if you don't plan on using it for long periods of time, but if you do, look elsewhere.
