A must have book!
This book is FABULOUS. As a mama of a kiddo with big feelings and some anxiety, as well as sensory processing disorder, this book hit home better than anything I’ve seen before. The illustrations are so simple and sweet, I love the cadence of the words and rhyming but most importantly, the message the book conveys is spot on. This book addresses what it’s like to have emotions of all kinds and how they sometimes show up physically in your body. The little boy takes on other people’s emotions and even holds onto all the beautiful emotions and thoughts/images “for hours”. He feels so different and alone until he sees a little girl just like him with her big emotions and together they see everyone feels them. This is a must have for every child’s book shelf. This is one to read often and help open the dialogue of your child’s feelings. I will recommend this to anyone and everyone!

Lovely book that encourages boys to not hide or be ashamed of their feelings.
In a world that tells boys/men to stuff their feelings, this Lovely book encourages boys (and girls) to not hide or be ashamed of their feelings. It teaches that true friends can share their good & bad feelings with each other without judgement. The message is simple and rhythmic, and the illustrations are endearing.I have a 3 year old son and 8 year old son. They both enjoyed the book. The youngest loved the illustrations & expressions on the children’s faces. The oldest was not as impressed, but it opened up an opportunity to discuss the message more in depth. As a mom, it is a beautiful tool I can use to teach my boys that their feelings matter.

Good for 6 year old
My grandson's parents are divorcing, and he's having some issues dealing with it. I got him this book, to help him open up with me and talk. After reading it, I thought it might be to advanced for hi. To understand, but he really likes the book, and asks to read it frequently.

Self Awareness, & Affirmations of Big Emotions
Britney has done such a wonderful job with this book. She has really captured what it is like to experience emotions. To have a big heart and big emotions and that those are OKAY.The fact that she is writing from the perspective of a young boy is not to be missed. In a society that tells our young boys not to feel emotions, Britney wades in with a delicate boldness. My five-year-old experiences life with a speech delay and many sensory needs. This book continues to open the doors of communication with him. There is much representation in Britney's books and this one is no different. There is comfort in feeling seen - knowing you're not the only one with big emotions.A gem for any home library or teacher's socio-emotional toolkit!

Beautiful Message, Good Choice
I bought this book for my child who has big emotions, but I am also a child therapist, so my review comes from both perspectives. I really liked the message and thought it was well done. The rhymes give it a cute, sing-song vibe and interest. The visual representation of the inner feelings seemed so appropriate. It was inclusive, and a hopeful message of belonging and validation. Note that this book does not give coping skills for the emotions, but rather focuses on acceptance: everyone has big feelings sometimes. I’d gear this to the 3-9 year-old child, though the story is fairly long and wordy for a 3 year old to fully grasp.

Love the descriptions
My favoritepart of this book is the beginning when it talks about the effect different emotions have on our bodies. Great way to start teaching kids about their feelings.
