Easy to Clean. Hummingbirds (and Chickadees) Like It!
Yes! Will purchase another unit, and maybe even a couple of presents. From the top down, well designed. Built-in ant guard (moat) so far has worked all summer. Chickadees? Their own private hydration station. They perch on the edge of the moat for a quick drink before the hummingbird in charge chases them off!Made in the USA. (Not dishwasher safe.) Completely disassembles although a firm twisting pressure is required to separate the base but it gets easier each time. Every other day during the hottest of summer, I remove the bottle and hold a running garden hose into the middle of the base forcing water through and out of all nectar holes. If water does not shoot out the hole(s), then the culprit was a yellow jacket wasp that got stuck despite the bee guard. What's really nice, the bee guards snap off to remove the stuck insect :-(Once a week complete disassembly and cleaning with an old toothbrush has kept it in excellent condition all summer. Some online forums indicate not to use any type of soap because the hummingbirds can taste it. So far though toothbrush and running water have kept it clean. The capacity of the nectar bottle is huge! More than my ‘small family’ needs. It appears I have only two or three hummingbirds this year and they don't drink that much each day so the process has been to only fill about a half inch. The feeder is hung in partial shade, next to some native wildflowers like bee balm, zinnias, and trumpet vine - at least they get a variety!I use a homemade mixture of half a cup of sugar to 2 cups of water in a mason canning jar stored in the refrigerator throughout the week. I find with the clear liquid it is easy to tell when it gets cloudy in order to replace it, something not possible using the store-bought red-colored mixes.Compared to other feeders in the past, this certainly has been the easiest to clean and maintain. It would be nice if the nectar bottle was glass, thinking that with time the plastic would (will) cloud up making it more difficult to tell when it's time to replace the nectar. Will update during the second year of use if there are any changes. It would also be nice if a couple extra yellow bee guards were included, since the first time washing one almost went down the kitchen sink! All cleaning is done outdoors from that point on! Used a fingernail under each side of the bee guard to pull straight up to avoid cracking. The product is a good value and will be a great first feeder for individuals. I will get a second one next year.

THE BIRDS WILL LOVE THIS...AND SO WILL YOU!
VERY NICE FOR THE BIRDS AND ME! A LARGER CONTAINER MEANS LESS REFILLS. BIRDS TOOK TO IT IMMEDIATELY AND SEEMED TO NOTICE THE DIFFERANCE FROM THEIR FORMER FEEDER, LINGERING LONGER, OBSERVING.THIS PRODUCT IS WELL CONSTRUCTED AND WILL BE EASIER TO CLEAN PROPERLY SINCE THE "FLOWERS" ARE BUILT INTO THE BASE INSTEAD OF STICKING OUT WHICH MADE THE CONTAINER PRONE TO BACTERIA. THE ANT WELL IS VERY WELL CONSTRUCTED INTO THE FEEDER.OVER ALL, COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED WITH THIS PRODUCT. WELL PRICED, DELIVERED TIMELY AND SAFELY PACKAGED. DEFINITELY A GOOD PURCHASE.

A nice hummingbird feeter at a reasonable price.
This lightweight feeder is entirely made of plastic, so I was concerned that it might not hold up well, but it has actually held up nicely after 2 seasons and is probably still good for a few more. It is also easy to take apart, clean, and refill.

Easy to clean(!), and the birds love it!
I, like most people who feed hummingbirds during the summer, have been through a gazillion different types of feeders, from glass to cheap chinese plastic that is the kind that if dropped simply shatters like an icicle.I got tired of the difficulty being able to clean all the feeders with the stupidly small screw-in mouth. It's like the companies making these things have never had to clean *ANY* of their feeders...ever! I dread to wonder what their feeders look like after three fillings, as I'm sure the birds stop drinking from them by then as they'd surely be nasty and slimy. Then I decided to give it another try several years ago to look for a decent feeder that was easy to clean (and of course would hold up to the weather and time), before simply just giving up on feeding the hummingbirds and miss seeing them every year.I'm glad I did look one last time, because I found this brand and this feeder!! It was wonderful! As far as I felt, I might as well had tripped over a 10 pound nugget of solid gold! This is easy to clean in the extreme! *ANY* bottle brush will work, or even a rag. It separates *very* easily and those who say it doesn't simply aren't very coordinated or can't chew gum and walk at the same time. The simplicity of this feeder and the ease of cleaning is the finest I've found in my 30+ years of feeding hummingbirds. These things also stand up to the test of time. I have three presently that are almost ten years old. Two do have slight cracks in the container part but don't leak, but, it's time to get a few more...they're so well worth it. I'm even going to get my girlfriends mom one of these because she, at 82 years of age, is tired of the difficulty of trying to clean her feeders. I told her I *guarantee* she'll never use another feeder again after I get her one of these. The one bit of advice I *WOULD* give about changing on these feeders is, take off the hook that comes with it and use something like a stout tie-wire, or cut a piece of electrical cord about ten inches long and put good, strong loops in both ends (after of course putting one end through the 'top' of the feeder hanger), or whatever, depending on what and/or how you hang your feeders. This will last forever and it allows the feeder to hang about six inches from whatever you hang the feeder from (this is the length I make my cord) allowing it to be more easily attached or removed from the thing you hang the feeder from. It will 'swing' slightly more in the wind or breeze but not as badly as one might think. The 'anti ant' moat in the top that attaches to the container and has the loop for hanging, is a wonderful idea. Unfortunately where I live it gets so hot and humid that anything I've put in the moat doesn't last very long. Water evaporates almost so quickly you can watch it and any oil I've tried, from motor to mineral, turns into a nasty sludge that's hard to clean off. If you don't mind keeping the moat filled with water often, then this is a great solution having this moat. I eventually did find a way to stop the ants...I go to one of my old vehicles and I'll scrape off some old, crusty but still fluid-ish oil from wherever it might be 'leaking' from the engine in the engine compartment, and I'll apply it with my fingers to the wire/cord I'm using to hang the feeder with. It stays attached well to the wire and keeps the ants out of it and is just a little bit of oil instead of a couple caps-full in the moat itself. This is just a 'it works for me' thing, but an idea for others who have the trouble I have keeping anything in the moat. All else I can say is, one would honestly be passing up a wonderful feeder that will make their life so much easier if they didn't get one or more of these. They truly are worth their weight in gold, in my honest opinion.

Feed the hummies
Has been a replacement for one that started to leak. It has a wide mouth on the container. The part the birds drink from is tight to open and close to clean which is good- no leaks. Hang it on an ant moot. Also please do not buy the red stuff to feed the birds, the red and yellow of the feeder will catch their eye and the dye in the red stuff will kill some of them as they cannot process it. Water and sugar is all that is needed. Look for the ratio online- some say 1:4 parts sugar to water, others say 1:3. Has a place for them to stand as well. Good item.
