This is an updated review. I left the original for comparison.
This is one job that could best be described as tedious. It's difficult enough getting your hands in there to disconnect the wiring. What makes it even more difficult is that they eliminated the seat for the o-ring. The white version had a distinct groove for the o-ring. You didn't have to worry about it shifting during installation. However, with this newer version, you're constantly trying to make sure the o-ring is still lined up. It's really just resting on top. The filter itself grabbed onto the threads with relative ease. I've had a few over the years that just didn't want to start. If for some reason the o-ring happened to shift, well your up the creek. A distorted, stretched o-ring is absolutely useless. So make sure that it (the o-ring) stays in position. I wonder if it could be coated with a petroleum based product similar to vaseline to hold it in place.I'm updating my earlier review. They corrected the o-ring issue.New filter installation was a breeze.

worth every dollar
I purchased this for a 2008 Chevrolet 3500HD 6.6 duramax, we usually purchase these for no less then $75 and now that I found them on here for half the price. this is my new go-to spot. it is an original GM part, which we happy about. one night in a fuel station we "had" to change it, in a matter of maybe 10 minutes we had it on and was back on the road. we purchased one from an auto part store, only to find out that the filter had collapsed and had to put the old one back on. this one fit and worked out like I needed it to. and if anyone has a truck that plays the fuel filter change game, you understand when you need one constantly, because we do. so now we can afford to keep a few on hand. it was well worth the money.

Good filter, great price, don't forget the bleeder o-ring
This is as good as any of the replacement filters, very reasonable price ($31 at Amazon as of this writing) vs. auto parts stores $50+. If you have changed one of these yourself then you know dealing with the filters large o-ring is a major pain. That o-ring just will not sit in position until you get it placed at the filter housing to attach it - no matter if you use oil, deisel or grease to help hold it. For me the best way to do it is to also stretcchhh the o-ring a couple times like a rubber band - not TOO much or you will damage or even break it !!!! It will then sit in place for a minute, maybe two, before rubber "memory" causes it to pull in and buckle out of position. Stretching will only give you a short time to get it in place so don't lollygag around. Also you have to push the filter up into the fuel filter housing agressively to get the threads of the two parts to meet so you can spin it on. One more note - don't forget the fuel bleeder screw o-ring. Those plastic bleeder screws are a joke (get a metal replacement) but the o-ring ages and needs replacement too. Mine is a 2003 Duramax and that o-ring developed an air leak causing hard-acceleration hesitation, reduced power, hard start and no start issues.

Wrap it up please!
I have bought the AC Delco TP3018 fuel filter many times and these are the worst I've ever seen. If I did not know better I would think somebody rattle can painted them in the backyard and resold them. first of all this filter is not sealed in plastic like they used to be so who knows what is inside of them. The paint on the outside is horrible. It is chipping with a bad texture to it. I would say this is a completely different filter than the ones I am used to. I'm not even sure this is the correct filter. I will likely be not using these filters because of the crappy quality. I am sad to say these filters have horrible quality control. Even the box is chintzy. The boxes were never great but at least the filter was sealed in plastic preventing any contaminants to get inside. I cannot say enough how horrible these filters are. I have read many reviews claiming that they leak and I don't doubt it. Just after looking at them and pulling them out of the box they will not be going on my truck.UPDATE: I did wind up having to install this filter on my truck and I will say it sealed up well with no leaks so far! I do not like that this is not individually wrapped in plastic. What I do like is you can press the top o-ring into the groove preventing it from falling out during installation. The older TP-3018 had a wider groove for the top o-ring and that o-ring would fall out if you turn the filter upside down or tilt it sideways. After this I'll ring is pressed in place it does not move. GM does put these on their vehicles and stands behind them with their warranty so I will continue to use this new design filter until I see something that I really don't like. I am changing this to a four-star rating taking off one star for packaging.
