Q: How do you use these? Can you make your shower a steamroll without destroying the shower?

yes and no... you are referring to a retrofit, which is creating steam shower out of existing shower. The steam supply line is copper piping. Your plumber would need to look at your shower layout and determine if supply pipe could be installed without destroying existing tile work. Hopefully, your shower backs up a wall that is in another room or closet. It is easier to repair drywall than tile. So you may have to cut away and replace drywall in order to install the copper pipe supply line. To make the supply pipe entry into the shower, may only require a single hole through the tile. A diffuser will be installed over that to make the steam orifice safe (so it won't burn a shower user)... Keep in mind, for steam shower, you do need full glass enclosure to retain the steam. You also need to have exhaust fan in bathroom, to pull out ambient steam created that enters bathroom (outside of shower, like when opening and closing shower door).

Q: How hot can the steam shower get?

Most manufactures set the limit at 120 deg. In a steam shower, you never want to go beyond that set point.
