Mr. Steam Ms225ec1 Residential Steam Generator, 7.5KW

I am reviewing the Mr. Steam MS225EC1 Residential Steam Generator, 7.5KW, AluminumMy wife uses this daily for the health benefits. It's part of her daily shower routine. First the steam sauna, then the shower, then off to seize the day. I use it, also, but less often. I guess that tells you that we like it, use it, and are happy with the purchase.It's installed in our walk in shower, which has a bench seat. The unit is installed directly outside of the shower. There is one steam nozzle that steams up. The heat can be set for 110-120 F. The timer is for 15 minutes. It gets steamy very quickly.This is our second Mr. Steam steamer. They both are about the same size, but the new one offers a digital read-out that is inside the shower. You can adjust the temperature from inside the shower, during your steam.The first one lasted more than 15 years, it was installed in the home prior to us buying the house 15 years ago. So it may have been 20 years old.When the old one broke, we weren't even sure if we could find another Mr. Steam, or if the company was in still in business. Amazon to the rescue. We ordered one as close to the old one as possible. We are definitely hoping that the new one will last equally long. I recommend this Mr. Steam in home steamer

We bought this as part of a major bathroom remodel. Building a proper steam shower was an expense that made me take pause but wow, I'm so glad we made the investment. This generator is slightly oversized for our shower and I'm happy that it is. Even when the pipes are cold you have a shower full of steam in less than 5 minutes. If you are a steam shower kind of person you will love having a Mr. Steam. For our home it did require adding an additional circuit for the electrical requirement which added to the cost. Worth every thin dime! Oh, and I called Mr. Steam customer support a couple of times and they were easy to reach and very helpful.

I've been using this daily for about two months and it works fine, this is the 4th Mr Steam unit I've had in different homes we have owned over the last 30 years and never had an issue. The control cable arrived damaged but was promptly replaced. When you install be sure the cable can be easily re-run as that could be the weak point in the design, I didn't realize it was damaged until it had been installed, fortunately our design of the bathroom made it easy to fish the new one in.

Product arrived broken. My plumber removed broken valve. It took 2 weeks to get Mr. Steam to agree to replace the valve. I requested they overnight it on my Fedex account. They informed me it had already been shipped, then 2 days later they email me and say the part was out of stock. They inform me they took a valve off another steamer and will ship it that day. I receive the replacement valve 2days later. I then get the bill for the overnight shipping, billed to me.Some kind of customer service!

I use my steambath regularly. It helps to clear my sinuses and it relaxes my muscles. I use essential oils with it for even greater benefits. It is reliable and fast at producing steam.

just what was expected

I have a great unit built into my bathroom when I built this house. Shortly thereafter the shower quit working. After contacting my home builder he found someone to come to my house and be directed by someone in New York as to how the generator worked. It was discovered the heating element blew a hole in its line. I waited for two weeks for a new heating element to arrive. Then another three or four days to have the mechanical guy come and insert the new unit. Things worked fine for another week or two before the entire generator malfunctioned and quit. Now we had to order a new generator and am still waiting for it to arrive. Since I moved into my new house the steam shower has almost been down as much as it has been operational. Mr. Steam is not a good product and people should be aware of this. Surely there are products in the market that are worth the money paid for them.

Mr. Steam steam generators are sturdy and work well. The units wear well and tech support is excellent. I have installed Mr. Steam in three homes and am getting ready to install a unit in a new home. Spendy, but worth the extra $$$ based on longevity and trouble free operation.
