They work to keep away the stupid birds.
So, I have some patio chairs that the local birds love using as their toilet. Every time we wanted to sit outside, I had to clean the chairs. I saw some different options to keep the birds away and my first thought was the shiny spinny thingys. But setting them up, I thought, would be an issue. Then I saw these stupid looking snakes that had good reviews. So, I bought these stupid rubber snakes and put them in various spots by the chairs. Shockingly, these stupid rubber snakes have kept the stupid birds away and I haven't had to clean the chairs for 2 weeks now. These stupid snakes obviously have fooled the stupid birds. I can't believe I'm recommending a bunch of rubber snakes, but there it is. They work.

Very realistic looking
Very realistic looking!! I was told to put snakes on the pool solar panels as the squirrels had been chewing the plastic tubes damaging them---about $1000 a panel. Glued them on various parts of the panels. Seems to work but has attracted the hawks now. I saw one swoop down to one. So that must tell you how realistic they look. Will they withstand the intense Florida sunshine, that is yet to be tested.

Got rid of those dang birdssssssss
I like these snakes. I wish they were a little wider and longer. They're effective at scaring the birds so for the price, they're worth it. The birds like to look for cat food and make droppings. At first it was just a couple of birds, then their friends joined the party. Every day more and more droppings. After cleaning off the glass I placed 2 on the patio table. That was 3 days ago. There haven't been any more droppings and I've seen no more birds in that area. Rubber snakes for the win!

Rats no more
We use these to scare away roof rats and stop them from going in attic. It appears to work, haven't had any since we put them up on the gutter. It does scare people when they first see them. They look so real, just remember to move them once in awhile, so the rats think they are real.

Look elsewhere
These snakes are extremely small. Don't bother with them.

Great in the garden
Excellent snakes and finally something is keeping the quail from eating any more of my tomato plants! It was too late for keeping the sparrows and dove from eating all the chard and beets!

Buy the cheap ones from Walmart instead
Used these around my pool to keep the birds away. Worked well but the snakes ended up crumbling apart before summer was even over. There was also a huge spray paint smell when I opened the package. The paint also washed off and stained my deck. Got cheap ones from Walmart as replacements
