Yanni: Live: The Concert Event [2005] (Region 1) (NTSC) [DVD] [US Import]

Was not terribly fond of Yanni. OK in small dosis but a bit over the top ... or so I thought. Watched a couple of extracts from this concert (by sheer coincidence) in YouTube and I have now just finished listening in the main HiFi system to the DVD that I bought as results. Absolutely spectacular!. The quality of the production and the musicianship of these people are very impressive, as is the range of songs and styles. Love it and would recommend it to anybody who wants to see real people playing real music using real instruments.

This is a simply stunning performance that, through a most amazingly skillful tapestry of cultures, races, customs, and musical styles meshing together, has become an evocative, punchy concert presentation of some really melodically beautiful and rhythmically exciting compositions.It is noteworthy that Yanni has encouraged each musician's personal musicality and expression to freely flow through his music. The result - simply stunning.Best DVD/CD I have bought in years.

Slightly different from the Yanni Concerts we have seen before, mainly due to the up - beat treatment of numbers involving disco type rhythms. The talent of the man and his genius regarding musical arrangements carried it off though, although normally we would have felt disappointed. (Drum machines should be banned !!!) Well at least from serious musical arrangements. Luckily, virtuoso performances saved the day on this occasion . Forgot to say that we appreciated the Concert being Region Free.

Having seen this DVD on a recent holiday to Lanzarote in October, we asked the hotel bar man who it was on the TV. We then ordered this on our return to the UK, we were not disappointed the CD/DVD is fabulous. I would recommend to anyone wanting to show this or play for background music at New Year or any dinner party etc.

New to Yanni, but bought this DVD on impulse - wow, the professionalism and sheer enjoyment of the musicians gathered on stage around him, the music, the setting, the production - already, this is 1 of the best and most musical DVDs in my collection - if you like Keith Emerson, Jean Michel Jarre or Mike Oldfield, then this will rock your socks off!

The content is really wonderful but I have always loved Yanni, anyway. The arrangements are wonderful and I love the way he found artists from all over the world to play in his ensemble. Beautiful!!!!

I waited a while for this bluray and it was well worth the wait! Lovely family viewing and my daughter loves all the tracks especially with the crazy drummer.

Very enjoyable. A great blu ray as a follow up to Yanni's previous Acropolis special. Wonderful music and a well mix blu ray.
