Manfrotto Camera Backpack Case Adventure 1 MB w/Rain Jacket Black MA-A1-15

Excellent backpack for the photographer that takes their SLR everywhere they go. Enough room for all of my must do camera equipment and then also enough room to be my man purse. So good I bought another one just to make sure I had a new one to move into when my first one wears out.

This backpack offers the ability to carry a full frame body, three lenses, including a 70-300mm, 28-105mm and a prime (or other small lens, plus a few accessories such as a spare battery. Once all the camera gear is loaded, the bottom compartment closes and is sealed off from the top compartment by a padded, zippered sleeve. With the zippered sleeve closed, you can add some personal items, such as a small umbrella, jacket, sweater, or a few snacks. Another plus is the padded compartment that can accommodate up to a 15" laptop, which is nice. Should you not need to carry any camera gear, the zippered sleeve can be opened and folded down, opening the bag fully from top to bottom, converting it to a regular backpack.There are a couple of negatives with this bag. First, while there are two side pockets, unfortunately the pockets are made of the same material as the main bag, and so there they have no give, making it very difficult to carry a water bottle in either of the side pockets. It would have been much better if the side pockets were made of a stretchable mesh. The other negative is that the upper half of the backpack, rather than going straight up (or mostly straight up) angles in from each side just above where the camera gear sits, so it narrows quite a bit toward the top. Losing the extra storage space can be problematic depending on what personal accessories you want to carry. If Manfrotto used stretchable mesh side pockets to allow for water bottles to be carried, and did not angle the upper part of the bag in from the sides, this backpack would have been rated 5 stars. Still, for the price, it is a useful, multipurpose, backpack.
