I cut myself with a teapot
It looks great, and i can boil water no problem. But when I reached in to clean it out I managed to cut my finger, bad. There was blood dripping everywhere and I was caught unawares. Honestly never hurt myself that bad before. I'm a little scared of the pot now so its sitting in the cupboard. I'd say be careful when cleaning the metal parts because the pieces are very thin and can cut deep.

Love it
Works with induction hob. Very nice looking and boils very quickly. Easy to clean as all parts can be separated, except bottom.

Delivered quickly, great customer service
*Update Dec 2017* - Based on my previous review (below), Hilson Young sent me a new product free of charge. The lid on this one closes fully and looked clean and new when I opened it - no black streaks. It arrived next day. I haven't had a chance to try this new one yet though so I can't comment on its workings. I can't fault the customer service I have received from Hilson Young - it has been excellent. But I still say that if I was to buy the product again, I wouldn't buy it for the price paid.Original review in Nov 2017 - The product was delivered very quickly which I wasn't expecting so a plus there but I wasn't so impressed when I opened it up. It didn't look new to me and had streaks of black inside of it and the stainless steel had an old used look about it even after giving it a good wash in hot soapy water and the glass had a mark or two. The lid feels quite flimsy. I don't think it's worth what I paid for it. I tried it for the first time today and it kept hot/warm for sometime but the lid didn't close completely no matter how much I tried to push it down. Overall, it's okay but I wouldn't pay that much for what I received again.

A mighty fine teapot - with one small issue ...
I've been looking for a suitable glass teapot for a while now - it had to have a couple of must have features - be clear (obviously), be able to have some sort of filtering device built into the teapot itself, and be able to retain the lid when pouring (ok - that's three points). This pot fulfills all three requirements and looks good and is light - brilliant ! The only one downside to it currently (which I haven't worked out yet but maybe I'm using it wrong), is that the bit where you put your tea in is quite long and narrow which can make emptying it quite difficult if you don't use liberal amount of water to swirl everything out (I don't like to do this as most of the loose tea then ends up going down the drain and potentially causing a blockage) - I tend to try and use my fingers to grab the loose bits of tea and as it's long and narrow it's not easy to do ...EDIT 15-JUL-17 - I've since discovered a way of getting the tea out easily and that's just to turn the metal holder upside down and give it a few sharp taps on the side of the bin. Rinse with water and repeat.Apart from that caveat - which may not be an issue for you - I'd strongly recommend this teapot.
