My wife had an authentic civil War sword very similiar to this reproduction. Her grandmother used it to whack weeds. It was made much better but this repro is so inexpensive I had to buy it. It is made well enough with real brass and nice blade. And, looks good enough for a wall hanger. Comes unsharpened. Has a plastic piece where the blade goes into the handle and I suspect the handle is some sort of plastic and not leather as a real one. Probably would not hold up as a weed whacker. I am well satisfied with this purchase and would buy again. I highly recommend it.

Good build quality, just blade isn't "battle ready", as it needs to be sharpened (call your local black smith or forge, for sharpening)

Got this for one of my fellow NCOs who was moving. Excellent craftsmanship, came very well wrapped and box was in good condition, and it shipped quickly.

Needed this for a ceremonial beheading.Very dull.Came FILTHY, had to be expertly cleaned and polished.Worked perfectly.Great value!

I would say that this is a fine blade to take on campaign! While not a true replica or anything, it’s fine for re-enactments and to add to a cavalry uniform!

Did I need this sword? No. Did I want this sword? Yes. Was it the most extra addition to my Halloween costume? Absolutely.Will this sword hold up in combat, probably not but also that’s also hopefully not what you’ll be using it for
