They seem like the ideal all-round hiking boots - I absolutely love them
Initially I was a bit worried about reading some reviews online to say it's quite a narrow fit. I don't really have narrow feet and I've tried both the 'medium fit' and 'narrow fit' insoles that come with the boots (note: the 'medium fit' ones come already imbedded in the boots) - and they both fit my feet absolutely fine.My record with getting blisters with any hiking boots or running trainers etc is terrible. I really struggle with them however I took these pair of boots for their first test along a Hadrian's Wall walk (a bit overkill I know - but just to try them out) - and I didn't get any blisters. They are very comfortable, snug and secure and gave me no discomfort straight out of the box. No breaking in required.I particularly like the rubber-like protection going around the lower part of the uppers - it'll be ideal when I go to the Lake District. I also like the way the laces work in tangent with the '3F system' to really secure your ankle. I also like how the boots are compatible with semi-automatic crampons for when I feel ready to experience this. The grip underfoot is excellent. The boots straight out of the box feel like they've been built to last - very high quality and with premium materials. The boots of course look so cool - especially with the other colours that I wear.I will say that I was slightly annoyed with actually getting the right boots via ordering here as originally I was sent a size 11.5 - NOT the size 11 I actually ordered. This was easily resolvable but felt like such a silly error to make.Overall, highly recommended for anyone hiking on any terrain in the UK I'd say and a good starting pair of boots to get into winter mountaineering. Unless you regularly have problems with your feet being too wide for footwear, these should be absolutely fine.

Comfortable, quality walking boots
Fit straight out of the box, size was spot on a 43 (size 9 UK). The sole is quite rigid which is what I needed and they seem weatherproof. I've yet to test this out by spending all day out in the wet but they handled walking through a stream without any soggy socks. All in all a quality boot at an OK-ish price. I hope they last as long as my last pair of boots (Salomon) which have just started to let in water after 10 years!

Excellent boots, totally love them.
I bought these boots as a spare pair and they are now my favorite boots. I just love them. The boots are super comfy and light too. The grip on wet rock is good and the sole is the perfect combination of rigid and flexible. I regularly walk 10 miles + through mud and water and my feet are good as new when I get home.

Love Salewa Boots But They Have Flaws
Had numerous boots by this company as I love the fit and comfort - remember, half size bigger works best for most people. Waterproofing prone to failing and not the most robust boot but they are so comfortable and you never get a blister. I have different summer and winter boots along with this as a mid-season boot from Salewa and they are all great. I hike a lot so need to buy a new pair every year.

Perfect Fit
Firstly...I've been wearing Meindl boots for many years and unfortunately they are not what they used to be. So I needed a new pair of boots and after lots of research I decided to purchase this product (somewhat nervous first time buyer!) The boots arrived and they are a fantastic product; in finish and design. I wear a UK size 10 and with manufacturers; the sizing may differ, but these are a true UK size 10 and fit like they have been made for my feet. Also in the box the boots come with a different in sole for a narrow size fitting, if you need more comfort. Let's hope these boots are as good as they look, feel and I'm looking forward to the wet weather.

AMAZING boots
Well i am not sure why the other reviews were critical. Boots came in a box with switchable insoles. These boots are a MASSIVE step up from my Salomons and probably my inov8 roclites. What is more they were a bargain! Thank you I am over the moon with them!

Very Comfy, Waterproof, Poor Stitching / Finish Quality - Seem has come undone
I just did the west highland way in Scotland, its a 96-mile walk over rugged and wet terrane, I didn't get any blisters and my feet remained dry for the first 4 days, the rain came in heavy after this and my feet were soaked but that was after walking 4 hours a day through streams and deep puddles so its to be expected. After the west highland way, I stayed on and walked up over Ben Nevis also.I was very happy with this boot but after just 10 days of walking the stitching down the seam has come undone. The stitching in the same position on the other boot and on the opposite side has held up very well so I'm not sure what the cause of this was, perhaps just a poor finish quality at this specific point?I'm hopeful to get Salewa to comment on this fault and will report their response here to inform anyone whos looking into these boots. As stated previously these have been very comfy and watertight, the sole is firm and grippy once broken in and it generally feels like a solid boot all around aside from the stitching issue of course.
