DDIY DIY Radio Soldering Project ZX2031 Mini SMD Radio Kit 70KHz FM DIY Electronic Production Kit

Let me start with saying once assembled the radio does work just fine! all the solder pads are well made and pre tinned making assembly easy enough. HOWEVER, at least the product I was shipped had terrible printing on the case of the radio, looked like the ink melted and the headphones were nothing like the product image provided, but for a cheap DIY kit they work well enough. I managed to find the build instructions from another website and other than 2 strips of capacitors being unmarked (they are the only ones with repeats so it really wasn't an issue) and that sorted that out.Overall it mostly lost stars for no instructions and horrid printing. As a soldering kit its actually really good, the SMD components are large enough for a beginner and the IC chip provides a good taste of working with smaller surface mount items (hint use additional flux as it is your friend). I would provide a link to the site, but a quick search pulls it and it mentions another supplier for this kit and I don't want to be "THAT" guy.

I purchased this kit for the challenge of working with SMD parts. The kit came complete with all parts with the exception of any instructions. Instructions can be located in the web with a brief search. The big problem is that many of the SMD capacitors are unmarked leaving the choice of part up to guess work. After assembly I hear static on the ear buds but no radio stations can be tuned in. I assume I put some wrong part(s) into the wrong location(s). All in all a challenging kit but I would not recommend purchasing it.

Works well if you can get it together. I checked around the internet andfound info to put it together. Fairly sensitive and picks up many stations.Use tweezers to hold the SMD components. Put a drop of solder on oneside of the pad and start the component that way. Good luck

DO NOT EVEN THINK OF BUYING THIS! Instructions were HORRIBLE! 5 capacitors were not labelled so it was complete useless. PCB layout was garbage too! JUST DO NOT BUY THIS IT IS NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE!
