Definitely a cool toy to mess around with. Fun small gift idea. A little fragile so keep that in mind if you have small children or a dog

I bought this for my wife to have in her office at work. It's really a beautiful unique piece of art as well as a interesting conversation piece with the fibonacci influences. Its very well built with a base that's perfect for a desk. It's design immediately draws your attention and I had way too much fun staring at the pattern as its very mesmerizing so be ready for that. My wife thought it was an awesome gift (I got husband points so bonus for me). Price is higher than I would have liked but the quality and design were worth it in my opinion. Very cool.

Bought it for my husband as a little gift for his desk. He loved it, I loved it. Have bought many more. It so so mesmerizing to watching, relaxing to hear to wood clack against each other. Just all around fun to fidget with.

It’s a great gift and still a very beautiful piece to have for an office but I didn’t realize it was natural wood and not painted or a different material. From the picture I thought it was gold colored metal(for anyone else that might assume that, there’s the heads up)

Purchased as a Christmas present. I played with it when I received it and came very close to purchasing one for myself. The recipient says that it is a great distraction on her office desk during interminable conference calls, it is also a wonderful conversation starter. You can pre-position the "leaves" and watch for the visual patterns that it makes as it spins or you can just spin it and watch the patterns change. I many ways it resembles a 3-D, free form Spirograph for grownups.

Very flimsy. After removing from the box, I accidentally dropped it on the floor from not more than 3 feet. It fractured in two places. I disassembled it to glue it back. It is not made of solid wood, and gluing it may be impossible. There is nothing executive about it. Markedly overpriced considering build quality. The production cost is not more than $10.

Playable art indeed! The helicone is a wonderful toy that continually fascinates despite its simple function. It's great fun to show to friends or to use in quiet meditation. Build quality is very solid and precise, although perhaps not to be treated carelessly. The action isn't as simple as in the video, but you'll get it with some practice – it's all in the wrist!

I love having this on my desk. It's fun to use and look at. The box it came in is neat and sturdy and it would be a great gift as a moveable piece of art.
