exactly what I wanted
I was curious about how to weave a fishing net and this book explains how to do that. Now, I think I will get soooome white cotten twine and mmake one of my own. You never know, someday I may get stuck on a desart Island and I'll have to make one. Of course I'll have to find out how to make twine, but one thing at a time.

If you want to learn knots, then this is the book for you!
Fisherman's Knots and NetsThis books contains loads of pictures that simplifies how to tie the knot. Besides the pictures, there is a text detailing each knot except where the knot is self explanatory. In addition to that, there is also the name(s) of the knot and sometimes a brief history of the knot itself. Also the author has the usage of the knot and whether it is a safe knot to use, or strictly ornamental. The description of each knot varies with the knot itself. The book covers fisherman's knot, commercial knots, and various types of nets that can be employed to catch fish. There is also net making, including the repairing of nets which is essential even if you use the net moderately when you go fishing. This then is the "bible" of the industry.Personally, I'm glad I bought the book. Just wish it came in hardcover instead of soft cover as hardcover books generally tend to last longer. So far, I'm halfway through the book and have tried to tie just about every knot I've read about, except for the real fancy ones - nylon string just doesn't seem to do those fancy ties justice, cordage or rope is needed.

Great book.
The media could not be loaded. Yes, this book has a lot of text, specially hard for a disléxico like me. But reading the “boring” text and following the step-by-step pics, I not just made a nice net, I also made a prototype of a hammock.I’m very pleased with this whole book.

Knot and net tying source book
This item is well researched and will make for a great source book and review for net tying and knot tying related to the sea, for anyone in need of such a book for learning or review. I recommend this book for those also practicing survival skills, as being caught in areas without a fishing pole and bait source, would also do well to learn these skills. It also makes for a great source book for families who spend time camping, and for scouting troops, as well as those of us trying to review skills that were left untapped for a bit. :)

Worth the money!
I wanted to learn how to make and mend nets but couldn't find the exact info I was looking for. As you would expect, there is limited material on this niche subject. The book contained exactly what I was looking for... gamble.. relief!

YAKB (Yet Another Knot Book)
I am not impressed with this book, it does have a few highlights of information, though most of the illustration are poorly made and outright confusing. If you want to know the different net and knot type this is the book for you, if you want to LEARN how to make the nets and knots, there are other and better books, sorry hands down on this book
