Like all MudGear products, these shorts were originally designed for obstacle races like Tough Mudder and Spartan Race, which ensures these shorts are much tougher than the average workout shorts. These shorts feature a 7-inch inseam, built in 6.5-inch back zipper-pocket, and two side-pockets. The zipper-pocket is the ideal size for a phone, keys, or wallet, and designed to remain stable when running. These shorts also include an adjustable draw-string waistband which is more reliable and durable than elastic waistbands. The included mesh liner provides support during running, but can be cut out for athletes that prefer to workout in compression shorts or briefs.

Love these shorts!
Ran in these for a Spartan Ultra Beast at Killington this past September. They held up great. I spent a good deal of time on my butt sliding down the steep terrain and they didn’t rip through. I’m about 5’8, 175 and I got mediums. They are on the slimmer side but that’s what I wanted. The pocket is great in the back to store some fuel or your keys when you’re out on run. I was even able to fit my iPhone XR in there without a case. Love these shorts!

feels rugged but too heavy for general running
These are little thick and heavy for general running, even on the trail just too hot. Maybe for a Mudrun or Spartan Race where the extra rugged feeling would be fine.

I love these shorts! Cut for flexibility and comfort with looking like a skirt. Quality material and workmanship. Best workout/running shorts I’ve bought in years.I’m never a fan of speedo cut liners but this isn’t so bad. It’s comfortable enough to wear all day.Hey MudGear, how about offering more color options?
