Personally I have a very small head, just like a child. I have searched lots of helmets in Amazon. Although most of them declare that the helmet is made for kids, the head size are too big. Some of them may not even have the accurate size number in their description. I have to carefully look over all the reviews to determine which one I should buy. Finally I found this one. Base on my head size, I bought the small size. When I got it, I was so happy that the inside fits me. However why I gave just three stars is that the ear covering pad is sooooo tight! And it’s not adjustable or removable! I am so disappointed. It was so tight that I could feel my ears were in pain. I don’t understand what the designer expected the kids’ head size would be. Kids might not be able to explain what makes them uncomfortable. If they like it, they will just accept what it is. This can harm your kids. So parents, please reconsider before you buy this helmet. I actually rentun it and buy another model from the same seller. It feels better. Hope the seller can recognize the problem and fix it. Make it better for kids. I first bought the matte white which was too tight in the ear pad; the second time I bought the matte white and grey, and it works better. My head is 53cm.

Forth photo down, showing the bottom of the helmet shows an adjustable circumference dial at the back of the helmet, and the tag on the helmet describes an adjustable dial system, this is NOT the helmet you will receive. Helmet circumference is NOT adjustable, as others have noted. I got lucky and it fit my kids 54cm head. (for this year) Also, as others have noted, the ear muffs are tight and the chin strap is for an adult. In order to secure the chin strap snug the comfort pad had to be removed and the plastic buckle ends up directly under the chin. If you've experience the comfort and fit of a high end ski helmet you'll know why this one is $29. I gave it 3 stars because I guess this is to be expected for $29 if only Retrospec didn't go on and on about how they've 'thought of everything' when designing products. They spend their money on marketing and writing good copy!

My 3y/o daughter was going to try downhill skiing for the first time, and we wanted her to start associating the sport with requiring a helmet from the start. Prime to the rescue!I measured her head and ordered according to the size chart. Even though the listing offered free returns, I was still nervous: if it didn’t fit, we’d be looking at spending 2x to 3x as much in the pro shop. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It seemed to be well constructed and as robust as my our helmets too. When we tried it on, the fit was perfect.On the off chance that this still fits her next winter too, I selected a color (white) that would hopefully still coordinate with whatever color she’s into next year. She was disappointed that it wasn’t covered in stickers right out of the box. I didn’t feel like that warranted any deduction in stars allocated to the item, however.I hadn’t heard of Retrospec before ordering this helmet, but in the very likely event that she needs a larger helmet next year, I’d definitely purchase another.

I bought three for our kids. I measured their heads ahead of time and the fit seems right for the circumference. Downsides are that I can’t seem to tighten the chin strap without it being right under the chin itself. It looks like it’s supposed to go off the side so the strap cover goes under the chin but we have to tighten it so much that the strap cover doesn’t fit or is off to the side. If it were a little larger we could put it over the buckle or if the buckle side were adjustable that would work too. Also the tags say there’s an adjustable dial but there’s not. Must be packaged with the wrong tags by the manufacturer.

Got this for my 3yo son (52cm head), who sits in front of me on my mountain bike. He was having issues with wind/exposure on faster downhill bits, and while we have some decent goggles for colder weather, they weren't very compatible with his regular bike helmet. The goggles work much much better with this helmet and the ear covers keep him comfy during cold weather rides. I do wish the ear covers were removable, and would prefer if the helmet was adjustable, but it works fine and thin beanie fills it out for now until he grows into it more.

I don't normally write reviews but this helmet has a significant issue with the ear pads. while the helmet itself is warm but the ear pads are too tight! We were new to sking last year so I thought the helmet just needed to be broken in and it was uncomfortable because of the packaging. Well, its been a year since we purchased this and we have chosen to give this helmet away after waiting for the ear pads to be "broken in". My 9 year old son always has red ears and complains of discomfort (and he is not a complainer). The second issue I have with this helmet is that there is no dial pad in the back to adjust the helmet size. All helmets that are built with safety in mind should have this feature.

I bought the white color helmet for my ski trip. I am a 5'1 tall female adult and since I am little enough I was able to use youth size. I used it once and the ear cover works great. It is not too hard material, so my ears will fit right in comfortably and warmly. I did not hit a tree had a big accident so I would not say it saved my life yet but that kind of incident is better off not happening anyways. For the money spent I love it! Highly recommend not for just youth but also adults who are little like me.

The 3rd pic shows an upside down aerial view of the inside of the helmet with a dial system to adjust its tightness. That was the number one reason I purchased this helmet for my daughter so she can grow into it and adjust as she gets bigger. Unfortunately that is an inaccurate pic...this helmet does not have that feature.

Es muy buen casco, pero no funciona para la protección que yo necesito, que es la de montañismo y escalada.Me gustaron mucho las orejeras que tiene porque además pueden quitarse, trae como una tipo gorra de forro polar que también puede quitarse, tanto las orejeras como la gorra son de muy buena calidad y me gustaron mucho porque son muy calientes.Me encanta que en la parte donde se abrocha el casco, trae un pequeño cojín que sirve para proteger tu cuello de rozaduras, algo que siempre me lastima de todos los demás cascos.El tamaño la verdad es que sí se me hio un poco ancho de los lados y se me hacía extrño verlo tan grande, pero supongo que es porque estoy acostumbrada a otros tipos de cascos.Le pongo 4 estrellas porque NO ES UN CASCO AJUSTABLE COMO SE MUESTRA EN LAS FOTOS. Me parece que solamente el gris y el negro, que son un poco más caros , sí son ajustables. Yo compré blanco y no tiene el artefacto de la parte trasera para ajustar, pero personalmente me quedaba perfecto. Fuera de eso, es una muy buena opción, sobre todo para esquiar.

Great little helmet, but it doesn't have an adjustable ergoknob as the description and tag on the helmet states.It isn't meant for snowmobile, but with toddlers, there are no helmets that are, an actual snowmobile style helmet is too heavy for toddlers necks, so if you want to take them in snowmobile this is a decent option for protection.We will use it for sliding, skating, snowboarding and snowmobiling.

Only thing I dislike about this was the colour. Couldn’t get any other colour then white. But fits my son perfectly and he finds it very comfortable

Ok helmet but after contacting the companies customer service they advised this helmet is not for snowmobile use.

The helmet was actually better quality than I expected. They fit exact to their sizing chart.
