Beautiful execution of a lovely gift idea.
I purchased this journal as a gift idea for my mum. She is a grandmother of one, my two year old and I think she will really enjoy working through this book for my daughter and any future grandchildren she may have. I have been so impressed with the journal; not only is it a beautiful book and feels like excellent quality, it’s filled with meaningful prompts - I honestly can’t wait to read my mum’s responses. It feels like a gift for me too.The book is divided into four main chapters; childhood, womanhood, grandchildren and legacy. Each section is filled with short and long answer prompts, from light topics (I.e. favourite subjects) to heavier topics (I.e. family values). I’m really glad I’ve discovered this now; my mum is in her early sixties and we have a good relationship. I feel she’ll have a reasonable memory for many of the things in this book and she’ll be happy to write these things down. I think about my own grandmother, and I’m not sure this would be the right book for her. Her memory isn’t what it was anyway, but also feel she’d find the personal nature of some of the questions to be intrusive. They obviously don’t have to fill in all of the sections, but if the grandmother who is intended to receive this wouldn’t feel comfortable opening up about early relationships (as one example), maybe think again.I have previously dabbled in family trees, but this feels so much more meaningful and personal. If my mum ever gets round to completing it (there are a lot of questions, many of which do require a certain degree of personal insight) we will have such a rich source of information about her life. A true mark on the world which we can cherish as she gets older and one day when she’s no longer with us.A precious reviewer noted that some of the words are Americanised, i.e. use of the words dating and vacations. They are so few and far between, they really don’t make a difference to how the journal reads. And we all know what these words mean don’t we??Very pleased with my purchase.

Great present for a new grandmother
Purchased as a gift for my mother after the birth of my son. The book has lovely prompts to help create a beautiful keepsake and pass down memories and stories that can so easily be lost. My mum is now looking to purchase a similar product for her mum as she liked the book so much.

A hit with gran
Big hit with mil who has been scrap booking bits for our baby. She was very moved by it and I love the idea that baby will have records to look back on. So many things in there I would have loved to have known about my grandparents .
