Apparently my dogs are geniuses
My two hounds get bored, and when they get bored they get destructive, so I've been looking for engaging games. I liked that this has "levels." I tried the middle level first. Treats were gone in 10 seconds. I took it away and made it as hard as I could. Put it down and treats were gone in 20 seconds. Then they tried to eat the little plastic bones (okay, so maybe they're not geniuses.)The issue seems to be that this is lightweight and the little bones just sit on top - they don't snap in or attach. So if you have an enthusiastic dog (or two) then it gets flipped over and the game is done. Consider personality.

Too easy for smart dog.
Cute toy. I was afraid it was going to be too small for my Boxer/Lab mix (75lbs) but it was okay. Wouldn't be appropriate for anything bigger. To introduce her to the concept, I put a small treat under 2 of the white bones and inside 2 of the red boxes. I tried to show her how it worked, but she wasn't interested. She came back to check it out a few minutes later on her own. She figured out how to remove the white bones and open and close the red boxes in just a few secondsNot sure how long this puzzle toy will keep her entertained, but I'm hoping for at least a little peace in the evenings. As for quality, it is of sturdy plastic. The lids don't stay shut on the red boxes and the white bones don't fit into their spots as well as they should.

Newly Purchased Puzzle Pleases Pooch!
Bar none, the brick puzzle is thee best toy/treat/activity item I have ever, ever purchased for my 9 1/2 lb Yorkie. Piper is totally food motivated; willful, stubborn, and way too smart! This puzzle is a perfect size, extremely durable (believe me, Pipe beats the s%#* out of it), just difficult enough to keep her attention and desire, but not so much as to frustrate her. For months and months I've contemplated getting a puzzle , but couldn't decide which one or the correct level of difficulty. I went back to a review I'd read by lovetodream88, viewed video of her Yorkie w/brick and placed order. I hope to help out others by saying the Outward Hound Dog Brick Treat...is the puzzle you want right now! It works--whoda thunk?! But again, money very well spent and I will be watching for what comes next in puzzles.

A lot of positive reinforcement the first few times helps with mental blocks.
Loved this product! Kept the pup entertained for longer than other toys. Helped build up her confidence and co ordination . We used training treats, dog biscuits and frozen water & fruit.

There are removable pieces that easily snap off of this treat dispenser
There are removable pieces that easily snap off of this treat dispenser. The tops of the treat dispensers could be swallowed by my dog so I’m returning this product.

Love it but wish for more
I work 100 hours per weeks so I was concerned my pups weren't getting proper mental stimulation. I purchase a few of the puzzle toys with the hopes to challenge them when I am home. This is by far one of the best ones I purchased. I love that it has at least 3 different ways to challenge your pup at the minimum. I loved being able to train them on each puzzle part before putting it together and making them do all the puzzles at once. The only thing I would change is to add a rope/string to the white dog bone pieces. My pups, Yellow Lab & Boxer, had problems grabbing it with their teeth and usually ended up just turning the entire thing over which defeated the purpose of the puzzle. I took some 5/50 cord, put it through the hole, then tied a large knot on the top side. Now my pups can grab the cord or the knot and pull the dog bone up and out of the way which I find works much better for the puzzle as a whole. Other than this issue and the high price I love it and so do my pups.

My dog loves it and its a good activity of active dogs.
My dog loves this. He is a very active puppy and it occupies some of his time. Surprisingly, he learned how to get into all of the compartments very quickly, but still loves the challenge of finding his treats. Usually, I put little treats in only some of the compartments, so he has to do some searching. It also allows me to use it more often without concern that he will eat too many goodies.

Yay
My dog likes this. he figured it out pretty quick though. He has fun with it and was tricky for about 5 minutes. My puppers isn’t a genius, and I don’t think it’s meant to be frustrating hard for them. either way he willl wander by and flip the lids and slide the boxes and pick up the bones when he feels peckish and wants a treat/cookie. So it’s not like it bores him, he likes it, just not a difficult puzzle. I DO like that it is not super heavy to where he would have a hard time picking bones up. I am planning on buying a few other puzzle toys and having a solid rotation going.
