Solved the picky-baby-who-didn’t-like-carriers problem!
We spent 3 months trying numerous, very expensive carriers and wraps with no luck - our baby would wail and cry until he was taken out. He hated carriers because the aggravated his super strong Moro Reflex and he felt like he was falling backwards.BabyBjorn to the rescue! This was the carrier that dozens of moms recommended when we posted for help in a Facebook group. It’s extremely well-designed, light weight and super easy to adjust, unlike the Nuna or the Tula carriers. My husband and I are both able to wear it and we did not need to buy two of them because of how easy it is to adjust. To our baby in, you loosen the straps on the front sides, which means you can easily rotate between a bigger and smaller person. You also can adjust it with baby in the carrier very easily, the slide through the buckles when you tug on it a little, but otherwise hold in place with baby weight. The back strap is also super easy to adjust with one hand while it’s on your body. You also barely notice it’s on outside of the hip strap. Bonus points: NO VELCRO that wakes up baby. The price point is also very affordable, avoiding the cost of the ArtePoppe or other high-end carriers. My only one complaint is that the top straps that connect at the shoulder are not adjustable and cannot be lengthened. Instead, you lengthen and adjust the main body of the carrier so it pulls up more towards the shoulder snaps. You do this by adjusting the length/height of the body of carrier from the bottom. There are two zippers at the bottom of the carrier with a double stitch that sets the maximum distance it can be lengthened and you partially or fully unzip them. Fully unzipped makes the body of carrier longer and means you have more space and more carrier length as baby gets taller/bigger, which therefore makes the straps pull up higher. We thought possibly he would it was an age thing, that as he got older he would just get over hating carriers, but we tried again 2 of the carriers we originally bought at 6 months old and he absolutely hated them. So it very much was a winning fit and design with the BabyBjorn that saved us from carrier search hell!

Love this carrier
Very easy to place baby into the carrier without any assistance with the buckles. No tying or rearrange like my moby wrap. Using with a newborn and she is content and comfortable. I’m a size 14/16 and have no issues using this carrier.

As advertised...
Baby Bjorn is a brand that is well known and definitely is on the expensive side. Of course, I was leary spending as much as I did but I have 2 under 2 and they are both velcro kids. There is a lot of material so it does feel like a lot on you. However, despite how much fabric there is, it still is fairly breathable. My 3 month old is SWEATY, like constantly sweaty. He does really well in here though and will fall asleep within 5 minutes of being put in the carrier every single time. If you're unsure if it's worth the money, it definitely is. It has allowed me to be hands free and tend to both of my kiddos. It's not perfect, but very darn near it.

Better for us than LILLEbaby
I had a BabyBjorn Mini when our little one was born and I LOVED it. When she outgrew it I bought a LILLEBaby Complete carrier, trying to save a little money as this carrier can be quite a bit more expensive than the LILLEBaby. Mistake! Oh, how I regretted it. I have friends who love their LILLEBaby carrier but it just wasn’t for me. I returned the LILLEBaby and got this instead. The LILLEBaby has actual two part buckles and narrow straps—I found it difficult to loosen/tighten on my own. But with the Babybjorn the wide cloth straps and slide-in buckles were soooooo easy—and can be adjusted with one hand! It was intuitive to start using unlike the other carrier. Within a day I could confidently get my 7 month old into the back carry position. I also love the feature where it has loops to tuck the extra length of strap out of the way so nothing is dangling. It’s supportive, comfortable and my little one loves being in it. We use it daily for hikes, house chores, and grocery runs. I am such a fan of Babybjorn!

Why do away with the origional back strap design?
I have used the original version and absolutely loved it. We used it cleaning up around the house, out at the mall, walking to the park, etc. Now that my child has outgrown the original, I got this one hoping it would give me the same enjoyment as the original. While the quality is what you would expect from this brand, they have replaced the cross ("X") design of the original back straps with two straps that go over each shoulder and connect with a thin piece in the in the back. This causes the straps to cut into me and not offer any real support. The majority of the support seams to come from the waist strap and causes discomfort after a short period of time. This 2019 version is supposed to make it easier to fold down the head support flap so it will be out of the way when the child is facing out. I did not find that much of a difference. There are two stings that you are supposed to be able to tighten to keep it out of the way but all I could achieve was a crumpled up effect that is kind of out of the way if I keep the newborn seat zipped. Still, I could live with it if the back support straps were better. The other major problem with this version is that if you want to tighten up the should straps to make it tighter or higher around you, it pulls on the front so it get tighter on the baby as well. This means you can only get it so tight before it effects the baby.
