Works with T-Mobile “bring your own phone” sims
I got this because I wanted to take the sim out of my expensive t-mobile/ tracfone and us it out in this heat in a phone I didn’t care about breaking. My sim is a “bring your own phone” sim compatible with phones vendor locked to the t-mobile network. It’s an easy swap as both phones use nano sims - I removed the locked sim that came with the phone and left it in the box.For voice calls, people say it sounds better on their end than my iPhone. Being a flip phone, It’s much easier to manage voice conversations.Forget about setting up the KaiOS store account, unless you'rejust dying to have killer 8bit like arcade games - some of them looked really addicting. Their App Store has little else ... a good news app ...The web browser that comes built in works really well and you’ll be impressed at how well it positions your pointer over relevant spots in web pages to save you pixel by pixel drifting. The best thing about it is it’s hack resistance (nothing is bulletproof):1). You can set the cell service options to ignore cell towers that don’t offer 4g LTE which reduces the chance of someone tricking your phone down to 2G where the encryption is much easier to crack.2). It’s KaiOS ... not Android or IOS ... (fewer ways to break in)3). No store I’d - no remote download and installs. (Assuming you didn’t set up the KaiOS store account - don’t, it’s not worth it.)I give this phone 10 stars for two reasons:- it’s harder to hack.- it’s cheap to replace.

Phone received with expired SIM card
Bought this simple flip phone for my 96 year old mother. The phone arrived, and I followed instructions to activate. After keying in the SIM card number several times without success, I called the customer service number and was told that the SIM card shipped with the phone had "expired." I was told to visit a local retail store to buy a new SIM card, and call back. Unacceptable. Don't waste your money on this phone.

Comes with Sim
I don't waste time writing reviews on amazon anymore since I don't trust most reviews here. But I hope this helps someone. I wish the reviews here had mentioned this because I bought a sim card and didn't need it. The phone comes with a simple mobile sim card preinstalled. The kit has a booklet that has your IMEI and sim card number for activation. Only you need for activation is the sim card number. I charged it up and activation took less than 5 minutes. I went online, put in the sim number and paid and got a number. Had to turn it off and restart. It also is wifi capable so you can set that up.The phone itself has been fairly easy to use without looking at the manual. Buttons are intuitive and sound was nice and clear on simple mobile. I wish people will rate it for the phone quality instead of low ratings saying it doesn't work with T-mobile when the description clearly says for simple mobile. If you are getting it for simple mobile, it works. I used the web browser to get online and had no issues. It actually offers search suggestions so you are not wasting time typing. I bought it for my mom who doesn't use the internet and mostly talks. I programmed speed dial numbers for her easily. I played with the features and I like it. It looked smaller and I almost cancelled the order but it's not. What did not sit well with me is that it says it can transmit info so like internet settings so I'm not sure if wifi password is being shared.

Well designed.
I was at first skeptical as to just how well a simple flip phone could serve my requirements in today's age of complex and complicated electronic gadgets. Well I'm no longer skeptical, this phone fits my needs perfectly. It may not have all of the features of the more complex units. But it has all that I need and want. A very reliable, easy to use unit that has good text, phone and picture capabilities.

It was used. Sim card was used. Couldn't activate it. Now I have to buy a SIM card.
The back side came with a sim already installed and that part ripped like if it was used and when I call customer service they say I should buy a new sim card. It seems that that one was used.

Ringtone is too low.
Great phone but the ringtones were too low for my grandma to hear.
