visiting manufacturer`s website and watching Youtube videos - all in pursuit of the perfect (for my needs at least) dslr backpac
I drove myself nearly mad reading reviews, visiting manufacturer`s website and watching Youtube videos - all in pursuit of the perfect (for my needs at least) dslr backpack. The first time I thought I`d nailed it, the bag (a Mantona) turned out to have design faults I couldn`t live with - so back it went. Next, I was convinced I`d found the right bag (by one of the most respected manufacturers, in fact a LowePro) - but I was mistaken. No tripod holder. No rain cover. No flexibility in the layout of velcro partitions. Back it went. I must point out at this stage that my requirements were not out of the ordinary. I have a Nikon D5200 with 35mm prime lens. Two other lenses - a Nikkor 55mm-300mm telephoto and a Sigma 10mm-20mm ultra wide. Throw in a Black Rapid strap, several filters, remote cable release, spare battery, penknife, tiny LED torch and other small essentials, and lastly my Manfrotto Pro 190 carbon fibre tripod. All I wanted was a sturdy backpack that I could customise to take this gear comfortably. On the verge of giving up, I discovered the Case Logic SLRC 206. To my amazement I had found a bag that could have been made for me. This fantastic piece of kit has room for all my gear. The whole of the interior is velcro, with really thick, moveable partitions enabling an infinite variety of configurations. It incorporates Case Logic`s unique suspension unit in the top half of the bag that holds the camera (with any lens attached) isolated from the partitions and available for instant access without having to open the whole bag. It has a tripod holder on the side (I didn`t want a bag that held the tripod in the middle of the back because of the pull on my shoulders - so side mounting is perfect). This bag even has a special solid reinforced waterproof base that enables the bag to stand upright when placed on the ground. The only thing it doesn`t have is a rain cover, which I`m prepared to forgive because it`s pretty darned perfect in every other way. Anyway, I ordered a Trekmate cover for a few quid that`ll serve just as well. All in all, I can`t recommend this backpack enough. The moral of my tale is do your research - it might take weeks of searching, but your perfect dslr backpack is out there.... and it might just turn out to be the DSLRC 206 by Case Logic.

Very well padded backpack which has room for a DSLR with a lens up to 600mm.
Ive been using the Logic Bag for about 6 months now on a very regular basis. I am an amateur wildlife photographer and use the bag to carry around my Nikon D7200 and Sigma 150 - 600mm Sigma Lens (C).The bag has lots of padding and the main compartment required me to move around some of the pads to allow me to store my camera fitted with the lens on it. I had enough room to fit extra smaller lenses and a second body (without the lens attached). The bag has plenty of pockets for storing additional items such as memory cards, flash, camera batteries , first aid kits and torches. The rear compartment is large enough for a small thin laptop or tablet. This rear compartment is ok if the rest of the bag is not too full otherwise it gets a little cramped and may make your back unconfortable. The base of the bag is made of a hardened rubbery plastic and will keep the bag upright when its laid down on it which works quite well to stop it toppling over. There are side straps with velcro for attaching a tripod if necessary which I have used and they work well. The bag is comfortable to wear for long walks and hikes. It did not come with a rain cover which is a shortcoming for me. I have had to use a rain cover from another bag which is not ideal.Overall its a good bag that will afford excellent protection but I feel like I could do with just a little more extra space and a rain hood.I would additionally like a chest strap on it.The suspension cradle is only really useful for the samller DSLR cameras with 55mm lens on it.

GOOD BAG,was sold as large,
I have to disagree this is not a large capacity bag, 70-200 lens, pro camera and accessories is a squash to be honest and a bit tight...... and I found the price now I know what I have bought a bit expensive compared to others on amazon. would I buy another no. very expensive for what it is, straps not long enough even at full extent, and you don't even get a rain protector but perhaps because its shower proof. Not overly impressed after 4 weeks use

I absolutely love this bag - it's been a work horse and survived everything where others have ultimately failed. The solid base is perhaps one of the most useful elements to it - keeping it standing upright. The cushioning is very thick! Protective but also reduces you internal space substantially. It doesn't have any dedicated SD Card pockets but the side pocket is where they're meant to go.The tripod straps on the side I find more useful than the conventional pocket you get - it allows the tripod to sit lower than the base of the bag so you can fit a larger tripod.I can fit a M43 Camera - 3 Lenses - Sound Gear - Wires and Accessories and a Shogun at a push (+Laptop)One thing I really hate is that the stitching on the Zips just continually frays. Bit of a pain.
