The Tanksetter is a good design and very well made
Looking for a safer way to add vertical stability, to propane tanks. The Tanksetter is a good design and very well made, right here in the USA. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is there is no visual way to a line the set screws, with the holes on the bottom rim of propane tanks. In fairness there are many different hole patters out there. What I found works best is to turn the tank upside down tread in the set screws then flip back over.

Didn't last a month
The two thumbscrews that secure the base to the propane tanks are held in place by flimsy little pieces of sheet metal that the threads engage. One of mine came loose and just spins around when the thumbscrew is turned - so useless. You're much better off searching for the two orange milk cartons sold here - they're American made, cost less than one of the Tanksetter bases, and hold the propane tank perfectly with no moving parts to deal with (or fail).

Simple and effective
You just lift your propane cylinder, set it inside the tanksetter, and screw in the thumb screws (which secure the tanksetter to the cylinder)I'm using this for a 40-pound cylinder. Keeps the cylinder about an inch off the ground to discourage rust, and the tank won't fall over even in sandy or muddy ground.Update: Have 3 of these now for all the 40lb tanks. Works great, and better looking than putting the tanks in a milk crate for stability.Note that the tanksetter won't work properly on an aluminum tank or others that don't have holes/slots on the foot collar of the tank.

Attaches and detaches easily, doesn't tip, and doesn't slide
I picked up two different tank bases at the same time, because I have two tanks and didn't want either of them rolling around in the trunk of my car if I needed to refill both. This one does not slide at all on the carpet. The competitor's tank base slides on carpet very, very easily. This one also keeps the tank upright, whereas the competition doesn't attach to the tank, and allowed the tank to tilt in any direction. I have a nice paint chip taken out of the inside rim of my trunk from where the other one shifted and slid during transit. This tank base is good enough that I'm buying a second one to replace the other brand's base that just went into the recycle bin.

Awesome product AND support!!
This fits my 15 lbs tank perfectly and it really does a good job at keeping it stable. Better than that though, the support from the manufacturer is top notch! Mine arrived without the eye bolts and he mailed me the missing bolts extremely fast.I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!

Heavy Duty and Usefull Product
This propane tank base is very heavy duty, should last for many years. It is attached by thumbscrew bolts, instead of a friction fit, so it can be removed easily and moved to another tank if desired. Adding this to a tank will throw the tare weight off by a bit, as would any such device. I put this on a 20# propane tank that will be used for a CampChef stove. The ground is not always nice and flat when camping, and people moving around can knock the tank over. This product makes the tank very stable both when in use and when transporting the tank in the bed of my truck.

UPDATE: It's been over 2.5 years now & this Tanksetter Propane Tank Base is still doing great! It even survived hurricane Irma!
I am very happy to be able to report that I am, in fact, quite satisfied with the purchase of this Tanksetter Propane Tank Base. It is every bit as good as was described in the product description.Without much effort at all, and in only a few minutes, I was able to easily attach it to my 40 lb propane tank.My RV is located on the gulf coast of Florida and I was concern about issues of stability during tropical storms and hurricanes. Now, I’m no longer concerned. This propane tank base is not only attractive but stable and sturdy as well. 5 Stars.UPDATE: It's been over 2.5 years now & this Tanksetter Propane Tank Base is still doing great! It even survived hurricane Irma!As always, be happy, well and safe : - )

Great product and it works.
I tried this out by putting a full 20 lb propane tank in this holder in my pickup bed. I drove around all over the place with left turns, right turns, uphill, downhill, brakes, and rapid acceleration but it didn't move only an inch or two. I have a Ram 1500 with a factory spray on bed liner with a rough surface. I don't know how this will move with a slick plastic bed liner, but it won't tip over.
