Fabulous Korean Home-Cooking
I am not Korean and have now made several recipes from this book, banchan, soups, braised ribs (the baby back ribs are to die for), and juk. Every single one has been a hit with my family, and though a few were more involved, none were terribly hard to make. There is an explanation of all the ingredients, pictures, and recipe procedures are very clear. Our family has really gotten into banchan, so I can make fresh small batches as needed just by reducing the recipes. You can also adjust the recipes to your family's tastes, such as I will reduce the sugar and/or salt in most recipes (not just in this cookbook), and it doesn't affect the end result. I have yet to try making the kimbap - those sushi-like rolls - because I haven't gotten around to buying a bamboo mat to make the rolls, but I'm looking forward to making them soon for summer picnics. This has been my go-to cookbook all winter into the spring. And I have to say, my end results look pretty similar to the pictures, which says a lot for the cookbook!

No easy glance of prep to finish time.
The book looks amazing. I’m just a little annoyed that the outside of the book especially the upper corner and bottom side edge is beat up. The inside is completely new though. Anyhow, everything looks doable and delicious in the book. Can’t wait to try! The only thing is I wish there was a place that tells you the prep time, time it takes to marinate, and the finish time. You have to scan through instructions to get the information.. So, a few of these dishes actually take overnight and up to 3 days to be ready..Recipes:Gochujang baby back ribs: spectacular. So so good. I did opt out of the Korean dry red peppers (forgot what it’s called) since my kids can’t eat spicy. Also, I grated 1 tbsp of frozen ginger instead of the chopped ginger or whatever the recipe said..

Authentic and delicious recipes
We've made 4 or 5 recipes from this book so far, and have been impressed with every one. Each recipe has bold and authentic flavors. We made beef bulgogi, bean sprout salad, seaweed soup, and more, and each one has been simple to follow and comes with clear directions. There is a comprehensive korean BBQ section which we are excited to try!

Great Classic Korean Recipes
I am a Korean-American that loves Korean food, but live far away from my relatives so I need to follow recipes in order to make delicious Korean food at home and this book has really helped me! Sohui covers all the classic recipes and also so more modern recipes. I especially love all the BBQ marinades and the Tteokbokki recipe is outstanding.

Best Korean cookbook I own
The media could not be loaded. Recipes in this book taste so much better than the other popular Korean cookbook (you know which one I'm talking about). Each recipe comes with gorgeous, high quality pictures. The only downside is they don't include the average time to cook a dish at the beginning of the recipe.
