I would have given this book 4 stars or maybe 5 stars except the quality of the duplication leaves much to be desired. Over 10% of the pages have the gloved fingers of the person copying the book in the images and therefore quite a few pages have the top line or lines of the printing on the page not in the copier window and thus not printed. They are pushed too far and thus not copied.But, it is a historical book and is interesting

I would recommend this book for anyone interested in the Historical places spoken of in the Bible. The descriptive wording and the quotes from various Prophets really made the Old Testament come to life. Reading a book written over 100 years ago is a bit difficult until you get the flow of the language down, but the rewards are well worth it! It is incredible to read an eyewitness account of someone who has walked through so many cities of ruin when long ago the Prophets foretold of their very ruin.

Fascinating, well-written, informative; it's so interesting to read a first-hand account from over a hundred years ago, concerning biblical history.
